This Iron Banner is going to be a massacre
Seems a lot of players are going in just to get etheric light, but those needing it are exactly the ones that don't have maxed armor/weapons (that's why they need it) and are not too much into pvp or they'd already have it from ToO. To top it off, Bungie's notes state that level advantages have been upped a notch. It's not going to be pretty...
PS - yes, you can go in with one maxed exotic weapon, but level advantages will be more pronounced so a 34 with a 365 Thorn should win over a 33 with a 365 Thorn, all else being equal. Bungie said "Power still matters, and it matters a little more as the delta between two players increases", so I guess it will come down to what "little more" means to them. I'm calling it a massacre, we'll see.

I don't think you are going to get the advantage you think, I have 3 33's and tonight I will have 2 34's without having any light, I am far from a pvp payer but I am going to grind it out this week for the light

They're just saying it matters a little more as the level difference increases. That seems like just common sense, of course it's going to be worse for a level 31 going against a level 34 than it would be for a level 33 to go up against the same level 34.

6 RisposteBy now everyone should have a lvl 34, it's way too easy to level up. Unless those players used their ethric light to upgrade their weapons first, which is a mistake on their part.

2 RisposteIf it's like ToO, the level differences won't be material. Everyone should be 32 by now which is close enough to 34 (i.e., within 3 levels) to where it doesn't really matter. I stayed at 32 for ToO and couldn't tell any differences with TTK against 34's. Latency is the stronger adversary than level difference here.

5 RisposteI'll be using my level 34 hunter with my vex, hawkmoon, red death, or bad juju. Then I'll be using my 365 efrideets spear with.final round and unflinching. In trials.as.a.level.34 I was killing level 32s one shot.with the.spear anywhere in the.body. it.didn't even.have to.be final.round. so watch out bc.I'll be one shotting newbies.

2 RisposteIs there another ToO this weekend? If so, a person who ins't a PVP beast could wait until the weekend when the PVP beasts run to ToO and rank up faster in IB with the higher rate of advancement with the buffs.

More than that though, I hope that Bungie has at least a fix for the atrocious lag issues. 9 times out of 10 it wasn't any of the so called "op" weapons that killed me. It was that fellow that was running toward me, who I shot with my primary and secondary, and then all of a sudden I'm dead with a kill screen saying that that particular fellow got me somehow by GoldenGun/BladeDance/FistofHavoc/NovaBomb/FusionGrenade/FluxGrenade/MagneticGrenade/ThrowingKnife/BlinkShotgun/AxionBolt/LightningGrenade/PulseGrenade/etc,etc,etc,

1 RispondiModificato da TraiN-RexX: 6/2/2015 3:41:36 PMI don't think the 34 > 33 advantage will be as big as the skill gap between the ones who have been beasting in the ToO for two weeks over the average general grind it out Iron Banner guys. It was already a steady steam of the most powerful weapons, but now the ToO champs have had practice with more teamwork and communication. Add to the fact they usually have those extra goodies like that crazy fusion Queenbreaker's Bow sniper and that wolf whatever shotgun. But, unlike ToO, Iron Banner rewards the grind eventually, so the herd will keep running into the meatgrinder regardless.

3 RisposteA lot of use 32.5s are decent players but cannot do ToO due to noone else wanting to on their friends list, and other friends sticking in little groups. I was the first to 32 and probably the last to be 34 out of that group. All from PoE groups. Iron Banner is great for the average PvPer I will be going in with 365 Bad Juju
