Finally, I have been broken.
I have been playing Destiny since the beta. I started Day 1 when it launched and I've carried on until this point. I've graciously and willingly helped hundred of Destiny players through VoG, Crota, and too many Nightfalls to count. I've had all my real life friends move on to other games while I've continued to trudge forward, but why?
Clearly, it's been to spend 4 hours looking for 34 or 35 Prison of Elders groups only to be refused because I don't have a Gjallarhorn still. I'm not here to complain about not having a Gjallarhorn STILL, but rather to highlight the segregation that exists based on that weapon's power level.
I've contributed too much to other's game experiences to be held out to dry by RNG. This is grossly unfair and quite frankly, I'm sick the of the elitism that surrounds this one weapon.
Either nerf it or give it back to Xur. I've invested over 649 hours into this game and I'm still held over a barrel over one weapon. I'm demoralized, frustrated, and even more disappointed.
I've always wanted to love this game and it's community, but it's hard to do when my own love is never reciprocated.

As far as this game not being "fair", you were told that the loot system was RNG from day one. In order for something to be "fair" it has to follow rules. RNG is random and therefore follows NO rules. Your expectation of the game was wrong from day one. That is not the games fault.

Ive been trying to not play it so much lately. I've got about or over 700 hours and have just one. Just keep going, you'll get one eventually. Me, personally, I am starting to get bored playing destiny so much so I'm slowing down.. I only get on basically when my friends ask me to or at the beginning of the week

The cluster rockets need to be nerfed. While their at it they can nerf Thorn as well. That would make pve and pvp more enjoyable.

I'm a alpha, beta, day one player and I finally got my first Gjallarhorn about five minutes ago. Took me 1000 hours.

Didn't help that Bungie gave Deej a Gjallarhorn during the poe reveal, further cementing the idea in the heads of the community that it's actually a required weapon. I'm pretty much forced to use the gun at this point or I'll just get kicked to orbit by people. Hell, I got flak for switching to vex during the secondary burn. Had to fully explain why I did that and why I personally didn't think Gjallarhorn was the best option with that particular burn.

5 RisposteI barely play Destiny anymore and only play with my core group when I do. I also don't own the Ghorn bit don't care because my group doesn't care. So, the issue doesn't really affect me, except for my own opinion of the situation. Bungie has a strange issue on their hands with the Ghally. It's a classic case of 'damned if I do, damned if I don't'... Say they decide to say, "Phuck the whiny forum kids who will, no doubt, weep a river of salty forum tears as their special snowflake melts, let's make Xur sell the dang Ballerhorn". Cool!! Right? Well, not really. Now, everyone, including me, will have it. Any current content, aside from PvP, will be arbitrary. BOOMBOOMBOOM!! Dead. Boring. On the flip side, if they don't make this this more accessible or even worse, nerf it (shudder to think...I hate nerfs), a pretty good chunk of the community will continue being shunned from the various non-official LFG sites and pretty much never get into endgame. That sucks too. Worse still, Bungie is pigeon holed into making any further content to be balanced against that one weapon, which will only exasperate the sutuation. Anyway, TL;DR, I know...to make a long story short, Bungie is pretty bent over the barrel of the Ghallarhorn, no matter what they choose to do.

3 RisposteI feel for you, I hate how everyone requires this gun. I have gotten my fair share of them (around 10) and I've deleted all but one. I'd give anyone who didn't have one a gjallarhorn if I could. I see all these posts and ones like "if xur sells ghorn I'm quittingggg." Well I personally hope he sells it, that way everyone has one and nobody can kick people just because they don't have one gun. One gun doesn't make you good, being competent and having the ability to get along with a team make you a good player. I hope you don't quit because you don't have this gun, just keep trucking on and you'll have your turn to bask in the glory that is gjallarhorn! (This is a little over-exaggerated just so you know. You don't need this gun to be good at this game.)

I agree. That sucks that you feel this way. I commend you for speaking out. I'm not going to be one to kick you while you're down. I was blessed with this specific weapon that you speak of a month or two ago, and I empathize for you. I would even if I didn't have it. I personally don't judge people by what weapons and gear they have. As long as you play your best with what you have, that's how it should be.
