Seriously. I absolutely suck. I've tried watching videos, tried playing more, etc, but I just get absolutely wrecked.
I just tried trials and got absolutely destroyed. I WANT to enjoy PVP, but I'm terrible at it.
Edit: just went 0-3 in Trials. Yay!
Edit 2: I REALLY didn't expect to get so many replies! Thanks for not being nasty about it and actually being helpful. I'm always open to learning. If someone wants to actually get into a game with me I'm more than happy to absorb anything you have to teach me.
Edit 3: damn. 250 replies. I really didn't expect this to get any attention. I expected it to get lost amongst the "if you didn't get 9-0 in trials you are trash" posts. Thanks, guardians!
Edit 4: Wow. Almost 700 replies. I am amazed. I'm amazed that this got so much attention, since I really just posted it out of frustration at making a stupid mistake and costing my team a match (they got mad, yelled at me, then blocked me off Xbox Live), and I'm also amazed and how overwhelmingly supportive everyone has been. I really appreciate all the tips, everyone, and I'm taking them all into account. I'll be spending a lot more time in the crucible training. I know I'm still a noob and I make mistakes all the time. I'm glad these forums have decent people still in here, even if you're all lurking in the shadows.
Edit 5: Holy. Crap. 1000 replies. You guys are amazing :)
Edit 6: I'd like to thank the few guys I ran Trials with today for getting me to the Lighthouse. I know it must have been tough, and I didn't always hold my own very well, but I tried hard, and I feel like I got a lot better because of it. I don't want to put your names because I don't want you to get slammed with messages like you did earlier. Again, thank you :)

Above all else it just takes time. Go in to crucible with a experienced friend to teach you maps and little tricks like drop shotting. ( when in a firefight crouch down real quick and back to make it hard for the enemy to get head shots)

1 RispondiModificato da Seraph's Testimony: 6/4/2015 2:32:47 PM1. Make your strength max 2. Don't use a pve loadout on you're subclass 3. Use the highest rate of fire and impact weapon you have for primary. 4. If you have bad juju or vex mythoclast i highly suggest using it 5. Don't use a sunsiger warlock 6. If you are a hunter blade dancer make sure you have: A. You're blink strike recharges quick B. You have the perk that gives you health when killing enemies with blink strike/Ark blade 7. Shotguns and snipers, or high rate of fire on a fusion 8. Forget rate of fire on a shotgun make it the max range(felwinters lie, metador 64, party crasher) 9. Wait for you're health to recharge before running into the fight 10. Have as much recovery as possible with the highest strength possible! 11. Rumble is a great place to train! 12. HAVE MAP KNOWLEDGE! Seriously, know your place! 13. Know you're weapons. AKA know the mag size, it's range, it's perks 14. Reload whenever possible! 15. Use the radar! 16. Look where you're teammates are, then decide how to deal with the enemy if you're teammates are getting wrecked! 17. Forget what people say about K/D, care about winning! 18. Save you're super for when there are a lot of enemies near by 19. Know you're part in the crucible, are you backup? Are you the guy that runs in and takes as many possible? Are you a sniper? 20. Stay near but not to close to the heavy ammo. There will be people coming with supers. 21. Have fun!

Always be aware of your surroundings. Don't be afraid, show some confidence - fear in a firefight is like fear while driving. It'll make you too nervous to win Keep moving Find a weapon you like and stick to it while you get your skills up. As much as people hate them, if you like hand cannons use them! Stick with a team mate and help each other get the kills you need. Get a few shots in and melee. Works most of the time. If you prefer auto rifles, shoot a few enemies then toss a grenade. Chances are you'll kill at least one.

7 RisposteMy advice is to always stick with at least 1 or 2 of your team mates. Not only does it give more firepower towards the enemy but you can use your team mates for situational awareness. For example, you see one of your teammates die or start firing at a certain direction. This can aid you to figure out where the enemy are. Don't be predictable and just stand in one spot when coming into fire fights. Learn to strafe, jump and make it that much harder for your enemy to shoot you in the head. Go into freeroam and practice the above techniques on AI to get your aim on point. Talking about aim, make sure you have your sensitivity right. Record videos and watch them back and see if you are over aiming or under aiming. If you are over aiming, try turning the sens down 1 or 2. If you are under aiming and finding hard to follow an enemy, turn it up 1. Muck around until you find you are consistent at aiming because in PvP it's all about being consistently accurate and going for the head and it will take practice to do. Map knowledge is key and knowing the map and using that knowledge with the radar will keep you 1 step ahead of the enemy. If you think you can win a gun fight because you are more than 1 person or he has a heavy and you don't. Back away and lead them you a place where you have an advantage. I find more success in getting the enemy to come to me, than to go charging in. Yes being aggressive has it perks but I find for me that making them come round that corner or in your line of sight gives you that first shot and if you are going for the head, you will take them down fast. Don't use supers for one person, it's a waste. Instead use them for gaining heavy ammo or capping a flag or defending a flag. You will get more kills and you are helping your team. Lastly, never, ever get angry with yourself or blame others for mistakes. Learn by them, brush it off and carry on. If you think it's time out, then do that. But never get angry because it will make you play worse and then you get more angry

Use a shotgun. It's like cheating without the lag switching.

Map knowledge know how maps flow, anticipate spawn locations (that is where the enemy comes from, use it to your advantage) Always keep your eye on the radar and learn how it works so you can get the jump on your enemy. Learn how to strafe so your not a stationary target. Don't be afraid to run and take cover, live to win the gunfight. Far to often people don't disengage from a gunfight they are losing or about to lose. Disappearing behind cover can sometimes give you the advantage. Don't stand there and continue to be a bullet sponge. Practice in PVE. Sound Odd? Well work on those head shots and it will carry over. Critical hits usually determine the outcome of most gunfights.

Just gotta play it more. I made myself play iron banner today. I was terrible the first 5 matches but the next 4 I improved quite a bit. Guess its all about practice!

Leeroy Jenkins! No seriously try take on multiple opponents at a time. Your kd will definitely drop but your skill will improve

It depends on your weaponry, heavily. By that, I don't mean which weapon you choose specifically, but moreso your weapon's class in a nutshell. Pulse rifles are good for medium range and taking attention, handcannons are good at punishing mistakes such as not firing on the handcannon weilder, auto rifles are meh, but are good for short/medium range-ish and can give you more attention than pulse rifles, and scout rifles are useful in linear hallways where you can see from one side to the other (Aka Pantheon halls). Secondary wise, sniper's are generally the go to. With a 1 shot capability, you can dispatch multiple enemies if good enough without putting yourself into a bad situation. Honestly, shotguns aren't bad, but you need to make sure your playstyle fits that of a shotgunner. What I mean by this is, you need to be able to be quick on the draw; and capable of closing the distance between you and your enemy quickly. The closer the better. Another instance is if you are a titan, and have armor of light. Shotguns work excellently in that controlled environment, and allow you to easily take down multiple enemies who choose to rush you. A note though is that if you are defender; Helm of Saint 14 is a must. The ability to blind any enemy who enters is too good to pass up. If that isn't your class, then, oh well. When it comes to heavies, usually it depends on the game mode, which influences the enemies choice in weapons. If it's elimination, expect more rockets than lmg's. If it's control, expect an even mix of both. I usually don't inspect my enemies on other gamemodes, but it's definitely crucial in Trials of Osiris. Knowledge is power, no? Anywho, there's any few tips in regards to weapons. Honestly, the reason I didn't go into specific weapons is so that you can figure out which weapons you like and explore. Be perceptive of different weapons, and always mindful of perks. If one perk seems just a tad useless, switch the armor/weapon or reroll. That's all I'll say for now. Best of luck in pvp, remember to keep calm and get heavy ammo!

Here is a couple of ideas: 1. Don't do PvP. I'm in your position. I have never won a round in trials. PvP is not for everybody. 2. Get lucky and don't play against the OP Exotic primaries.

Don't be afraid to run away from an engagement you might lose. Don't camp one single spot, keep moving Aim for the head Aim grenades at peoples feet ( unless its a sticky) Find a weapon you like and feel comfortable with Don't rely on the thorn in case it gets nerfed Find a good team that communicates Know when to rush and know when your outnumbered Play the objective Try and have fun

1 RispondiIf you get the Thorn Bounty, Do it, it is so difficult for the average player that you automatically improve by the time you finish it. It is going to be a long and ANNOYINGLY FRUSTRATING journey for the average player. Great sense of accomplishment once you get it though.

6 RisposteI'm trying at the moment to get 500 kills with void damage to get further on my thorn exotic bounty, but got 2/500 :-( i will never get it done :-/

Practice? I don't do PVP myself but I think the only way to get better at it is constant trial and error in order to gain experience. Learn the maps. The objectives ( if there are any ). The spawn points when players die. The spawn points for ammo. Most important of all learn player behaviour, where are the camping spots for snipers, blind spots for campers with shot guns, which weapons are used most, which weapons are most effective on each map, how to move around each map quickly and efficiently, learn how to gain head shots on a highly agile target. You'll eventually get better if you keep at it, thing is you need want it. I have no interest in PVP ( I'm a story line, explorer gamer who has absolutely no competitive spirit ) so my heart will never ever be in PVP and I'll never be able to get to the appropriate level.

Practice, practice, practice. Its like lifting weights. You have to work to get to a level, then work to maintain.
-
Play with good people listen and take there advice and don't get frustrated. just keep playing and you'll get better. I went from 5 kills a game to 15 to 25 kills a game and I'm still trying to get better

Rumble matches help, or just practice practice
