Do You Invert the Y Axis?
Hey everyone, was just wondering how many people on these boards invert the y axis when they play a fps like Destiny. I know I do. I'm not sure why. I figure way back when I played some shooters a la Goldeneye and Timesplitters that had inverted look and got used to it from there. If there's no invert option I'm not going to waste time trying to play that shit - it's just too annoying. Some random indie game on PS Plus they've got for free right now had "regular" look locked in and I deleted that bullshit post haste.
Out of curiosity, give me an age when you respond. Are old weathered turds more likely to invert? I asked my clanmates this question several months ago as they are all ancient and most of them didn't. I'd like a broader sample size so thanks for reading and responding.
Edit:thanks for the responses everyone! I'm 44 myself. If you're old or wizened-at-heart and in need of a clan and you're on ps3 or ps4, check out Rise of Old Dudes. Even though most of those ancient dorks don't have the common sense to invert.

Its kinda weird for me. I can play normal with any fps but when it comes to Resident Evil 4 and up i gotta use inverted axis. It just feels weird playing regular in RE. Im 20 btw

I've had many heated debates with friends about this, and I win because: It's not up and down unless you hold your controller in a vertical position (who does that?). So it's forward and back. Lean forward you look down. Lean back you look up. Oh and I'm 34.

I do this! I also got used to playing goldeneye and now can't have it any other way. It just makes sense inverted. I think of it as an axis - pull one side down, the other goes up. I'm 31 ☺😊😀

Inverted is freaken annoying. I don't use it in game or on other things like the new Macbooks on the trackpad. If I look a direction I expect to actually look that direction! And I'm 22 lol

I'm 30, I play inverted Y-axis. I don't understand how it's not just natural for people to use inverted Y-axis. If you want to look up, you tilt your head back and if you want to look down you tilt your head forward. If you treat the analog stick as if it's connected to your head or eyes, you wouldn't push forward to look up. It's got nothing to do with being like a plane, but everything to do with the natural geometry of how the human body works.

I think of the stick as my head so if I move my stick/head back or down I would look up and vice versa. Dunno why I started playing like this though. Would be a pain in the ass trying to change now. I'm 25

I grew up playing games like Mechassult, so I had to learn inverted axis. But I LOVE that Destiny is the first game I know of that gives the option of "Inverted/Not Inverted" instead of the offensive "Inverted/Normal".
