Hey everyone, was just wondering how many people on these boards invert the y axis when they play a fps like Destiny. I know I do. I'm not sure why. I figure way back when I played some shooters a la Goldeneye and Timesplitters that had inverted look and got used to it from there. If there's no invert option I'm not going to waste time trying to play that shit - it's just too annoying. Some random indie game on PS Plus they've got for free right now had "regular" look locked in and I deleted that bullshit post haste.
Out of curiosity, give me an age when you respond. Are old weathered turds more likely to invert? I asked my clanmates this question several months ago as they are all ancient and most of them didn't. I'd like a broader sample size so thanks for reading and responding.
Edit:thanks for the responses everyone! I'm 44 myself. If you're old or wizened-at-heart and in need of a clan and you're on ps3 or ps4, check out Rise of Old Dudes. Even though most of those ancient dorks don't have the common sense to invert.

No Inverted look on an FPS. Its a controller. Its always felt weird to me unless its an actual joystick. 27 years old, going on 14
-
Inverted controls... Never again.

1 RispondiIf you look solely at the title to this thread and then look at the poll questions, but ignore the body of the thread, it reads like an innuendo for something dirty. Sinner.
-
I used to play inverted... It's like i grew out of it.
-
4 RisposteInverted, I blame freespace, wing commander and the mech warrior games.
-
Modificato da F1GZ: 5/13/2015 3:41:57 PMYep i play inverted. age 25.
-
Always have, ever since Goldeneye on N64
-
4 RispostePost here if you play on inverted control and have a 2kd or higher in pvp , I have a2.21 playing on normal and I'm convinced that playing on inverted reduces reactions and messes up your aim ...
-
Can't invert unless it's flying. I'm 39. I need up to be up and down to be down.
-
32 - played flight Sims as a kid and fly model airplanes now. It's a joystick, why push forward to look up?! Hehe
-
I don't now, but I'm probably going to start, once I get the time to get used to it again. I stopped in HS when me and my buddies took turns, and they couldn't hang.
-
Can't invert. Never could very well. Age 26
-
Inverted. Grew up playing flight sims on a mac. It's the only way I can play. Age 34.

1 RispondiI'm 36 and I invert always. Aim, look, camera, whatever. I just can't play if it's not inverted, I'm constantly looking straight at the floor.
-
1 RispondiInverted. Stems from the early FPS days on PC. Duke Nukem 3D or Hexen were the first FPS's to have a Y axis that I played (Wolfenstein and Doom had no Y axis). I think anyone coming from early PC FPS's probably use inverted controls. Don't know if Mouse and Keyboard naturally suited inverted Y axis or if inverted Y axis was forced upon us. Memory isn't that good! Feels so unnatural to push forwards to look up. Someone else already mentioned it, pulling back on the stick is like pulling your Guardians head back and therefore looking up.
-
yes, although I am tempted not to as the skyboxes in destiny sure are pretty...
-
23, and I think I invert the Y axis because the original Halo came that way. If not Halo, it was some other game. But yeah whatever game I first played on the original xbox did it for me. Can't even remember honestly.
-
I played CoD Modern Warfare inverted then the next CoD not inverted, I learned to play both somewhat equally.

6 RisposteIf you don't invert, you are wrong! Being less aggressive now: Fun experiment. Find a friend that will allow you to touch them. Have them sit down in front of you. Place your hand on top of their head. Now, imagining you're pushing on a joystick on a controller, make them look down. EXACTLY. I'm 27,and I pretty sure the real reason I play inverted is that at some point in the Playstation 1 era I played a game that didn't give you the option not to and it stuck ever since.

2 RisposteModificato da zallapo79: 5/13/2015 9:36:40 AM36, and I blame the Ace Combat series for my inverted-ness.
-
Yep I invert. I'd be screwed if games ever stopped giving the option. I'm in the lean forward to look down lean back to look up camp. I'm 39 btw. Probably comes from playing old arcade games like the original wire frame Star Wars game, afterburner and stuff like that. Just feels more natural inverted. Maybe I was a fighter pilot in a previous life.

I'm 37. Have no clue when I started doing this. I suspect it started when ps put analog sticks on the controllers. I know I can't play a game on a console or with a controller anymore without inverting the y axis. The odd thing is that I don't invert when I'm on the PC or using a keyboard/mouse. This is also what leads me to think it has something to do with the thumbs/analog sticks.
-
26-years-young and I have always played inverted for both first and third person games.
-
I keep mine normal and I'm 23. I played golden eye a bit, but I've played other shooters a lot more such as the halo series, Call of Duty, and Medal of Honor.

Modificato da Intruder: 5/13/2015 3:22:20 PMInverted 40 First games were flight simulators so I attribute it to that. It is exactly how a flight stick works. Once you learn a certain way it will feel foreign to try the other way. I did play a lot of early FPS games like Duke Nukem and Unreal Tournament that had an option and I had to change it to play.

I'm 35 and always play inverted. Did 4 years in the USMC and the turret controls were inverted.
