Hey everyone, was just wondering how many people on these boards invert the y axis when they play a fps like Destiny. I know I do. I'm not sure why. I figure way back when I played some shooters a la Goldeneye and Timesplitters that had inverted look and got used to it from there. If there's no invert option I'm not going to waste time trying to play that shit - it's just too annoying. Some random indie game on PS Plus they've got for free right now had "regular" look locked in and I deleted that bullshit post haste.
Out of curiosity, give me an age when you respond. Are old weathered turds more likely to invert? I asked my clanmates this question several months ago as they are all ancient and most of them didn't. I'd like a broader sample size so thanks for reading and responding.
Edit:thanks for the responses everyone! I'm 44 myself. If you're old or wizened-at-heart and in need of a clan and you're on ps3 or ps4, check out Rise of Old Dudes. Even though most of those ancient dorks don't have the common sense to invert.

I do because inverted was the default setting on the first Halo. I'm also dyslexic so in a weird way it feels normal
-
If you imagine putting a joystick on the back of your head then inverted makes sense. Still don't use that stupid shit.
-
I don't invert my axis in games, ever. However, my older brother does. When we played in the crucible on his PlayStation, every time we passed the controller we switched the axis to which one the other preferred.
-
Some games I invert both the y and x axis and on others I don't invert at all
-
yeah, if I don't use inverted it feels like i'm trying to control and drunken, angry bronco.
-
Also, for the few games ive played that didnt have the option, I modified a controller and switch the y-axis mechanically.

5 RisposteModificato da Guardian, Archon Of Light: 5/13/2015 11:29:14 PM29, don't invert I need to press up to look up, and down to look down..like you do in real life

34, us inverted guys are usually from the old school, I have a brother who is 25 and looks at me like I killed his dog when I jump on his console and invert his controls, this comes from how the original control set ups were.
-
Personally I have to invert it, or its pretty much unplayable for me. First game that I really got into was Ace Combat 4 and from then on it's never felt right to not invert. However, I'm only 18.

3 RisposteIf you're not inverted, you're dong it wrong. I'm 31, been paying shows since I was a kid. Goldeneye, perfect dark, they probably started it for me and I never looked back. I'm the biggest gamer in my friend group and I'm the only one that plays inverted.
-
6 Risposte44 and inverted. I've always viewed FPS games as though I'm actually looking from my point of view, kind of the point right? IRL when I look down, I tilt my head forward. When I look up, I tilt my head back. Inverted is natural.
-
I do, I'm 40. Think it comes from arcade games as a kid. Thunder blade, afterburner, space harrier. You pulled back on the joy stick to move up. Great times Jesus where did my life go?!!
-
When you look up (in real life) do you tilt your head back, or forward? 19 here.

I do, and I'm 49. I know exactly why I do it, too. I used to be a PC gamer, and when I bought the (then brand-new) Xbox 360, A console gamer friend was showing me the ropes. He said, "Here — invert the Y axis. You'll like it better." I have left it that way ever since, so I can't even play it not inverted, even if I wanted to!

1 RispondiWhat is the number value everyone's putting with their answer. Sensitivity?
-
Been playing inverted ever since i was four years old
-
2 RispostePeople who invert are probably a little more "hard core" gamers - more immersive to think about it as your head moving? To me, I don't invert since I see it as moving an object - the gun. I bet there are differences in the way those two styles of players process information outside of video games too.
-
Was going to make a similar post the other day.I play inverted and have done for as long as I can remember.I think it's old games like timesplitters that have engrained it in me.Btw I'm 27

An inverted 32 yo

2 RisposteI invert the x axis. I don't get how you can push left and look left. If you don't invert x axis you are doing it wrong. This stems from playing so many games on ps1 and atari.
-
True pilots such as myself do and should.
-
Invert 100% or I can't play. Been like that my entire gaming time...33 years old.

1 RispondiI'm 20. Been playing inverted since I was probably 9 or ten.
