I know what you're talking about. But the post is asking about commendations not packages. So it makes no sense to tell him to open his packages when he's not even asking about that.

I'm just trying to warn people since a lot of people are trying to save packages, besides you get commendations from packages so it is relevant

You can dismantle them for 250 rep each. So with each faction level being 2500 rep, 10 commendations will get you 1 faction level (therefore a package) after the dlc drops.
