What's everyone's big deal about including match making in everything.
Is it so hard to make friends on any gaming console. Even if those friends are only for doing what you can't do in solo. The recruitment section is great. All you do is look for which console your on. Look for which activity your needing help with. Find a squad that suits you and your good to go.
There are loads of destiny clans that are aimed towards helping people who can't find people to game with. My clan being one of them.
By this stage when I hear people are still complaining about match making and can't get into fire teams to run raids or nightfalls etc then your really, really lazy. For all the "I solo everything" type of people that are about to comment to state that they can do nearly everything themselves and don't need help I'm not aiming this at you I'm aiming at the people constantly writing on the forums that the game is terrible because there's no matchmaking.
Go make some friends and give everyone a break thanks :)
[edit] some good answers for and against MM. If your stuck or haven't done a raid and want to know how to complete one, which steps to take or just looking for people to game with. Apply to join GuardianRaidersOfTheLight (ps4 only atm) and you'll get all the help you need!

1 RispondiI'd be 100% ok with matchmaking if bungie made it optional, but I doubt they'll actually do that and they'll just force it on us so I am against (for now)
-
Opt in matchmaking is no different from going on an external site. More convienent in game
-
10 RisposteToo many messages and friend requests. We need matchmaking at least for the old raids. The weekly seems to be going well with the matchmaking. Also, over 75% of the community never did a raid. Maybe this will help the community get more active.
-
The thing about the recruitment forum is that I have 100 people from there on my friends list, only 2 of which I actually play with from time to time. That's an awful lot of wasted time and space. If I'm going to play with random people I'll never hear from again, I would rather try my luck with 30 seconds in matchmaking, than try my luck with 30 minutes on a forum competing with dozens of others trying to put a group together. Also, you call people lazy when you are too lazy to spell "you're" correctly.

Since when are options a bad thing? Maybe I will put together a fireteam, maybe I'll use destiny lfg. But maybe I want the option to be matched with a group. Maybe I want to play with some randoms. Is that so bad?

I'm with ya on this one. Recruitment thread has been awesome. For the most part you just find "raid finder for PS4" (or whatever system you play on, I play PS4; hence the example. GothamKnight93 for anyone who wants to add me) and within five minutes I've got a fireteam together. Honestly, while it might be cool to have matchmaking, there's no excuse as to not being able to find a team. At this point, like with everything else in this damned game, people are. Just looking for things to bitch about.

14 RisposteI'm tired of using a phone for 5-15 minutes to find people to do a 20 minute raid. If my kids take a nap at the same time, I want to throw in the disc and just hit A.

Also the 2 LGF sites are great. .net and .com

9 RisposteIts very simple why it should be matchmaking for everything. I will explain to You: 1- whats the problem of give the option to player chose betwen MM or premade fireteam? With MM You shouldnt have only 20% players comleting a RAID. 3- in This Days i cant see 3 random players not finishing a nightfall, so why no MM. 4- with raids is the same like nightfall, with more people playing with MM they will learn easly what to do, its always the same strat. 5- i see no reason to get a shedule to play a videogame, And that whats needed with no MM.

4 RisposteHave to say that I agree. While optional matchmaking certainly wouldn't be a problem as far as I see, it's really not necessary. I'm about as antisocial as they come and even I've managed to make a small group of friends on Destiny. Enough to do raids with if I feel like it anyway. It seems to be an ongoing mentality around here that everything should just be given to people without them doing any work for themselves. It's really pretty sad
-
1 RispondiMatchmaking should be an option not forced upon you like it is in the weekly
-
5 RisposteThose whining about wanting that option would whine even worse once they got it and could never beat the Confluxes with their matchmade band of idiots or when they get demolished in ToO. All the current whining about it would only intensify. The people crying for more matchmaking are the saddest, whiniest, most butthurt bunch of toxic babies in this community. The overlap between the people crying about that and the "nerf everything" crew is undoubtedly really high.

7 RisposteI'm too lazy to turn my computer on and go to lfg, and most of my friends stopped playing this game a while back. Optional matchmaking should be available for everything. Why do I need to have my PC on to use all the things the game should have in it. Lfg, chrome gear management, public event timers.
-
3 RisposteWhats the deal with everyone being against matchmaking? Using recruitment forums is pretty much the same as matchmaking, just slower and more tedius, now don't get me wrong, I can understand the lack of MM for say raids, they are suppose to be to hard to run with randoms, but its still a silly notion that all end game content should lack MM, is a quick and easy way to get into a game so bad?

1 RispondiModificato da House Baratheon: 5/6/2015 7:51:51 AMwhy can't there be (optional) matchmaking? I do the VoG & Crota by recruiting on this and have no trouble completing the raid. I see no difference between that and matchmaking, other than matchmaking being a faster way to find people. I'm all for matchmaking! I don't understand why people would be against it (optional mm) If the biggest problem is afk'ers then I think that's a pathetic reason. I've played my fair share of strikes, I've probably had 3 afk'ers out of 800 (rough guess can't be arsed to check) strikes I've played. so, I've don't see a problem at all.

1 RispondiIn recruitment forums of LFG sites you can assemble a fireteam, check if people are actually using weapons of the burn type etc. I just came back from a weekly where I was the only one with void weapons, and one dude quit after halfway since he died, and it wasn't the first time people don't use weapons for the correct burn. I'd rather do it alone. Carrying 1-2 players through it because they don't understand void/solar/arc burn is just stupid. I don't mind helping people, but i'd at least like for them to come to the chat so I could give them advice. Matchmaking for raids would be awful since most don't go to the activity chat or respond to invites for a psn group to actually communicate.
