Why are gamers so attracted to . . .
. . . the color black. A lot of the time I'm running through crucible or slapping Rahool in the tower, I see tons and tons of guardians wearing Dead Orbit's class item. The majority of people I've asked say they're doing it for the shaders that DO offers. Those shaders being a mix of black and white.
I personally have to ally myself with the Future War Cult.
So why are so many players attracted to Dead Orbit? Is it the guns? The armor? Or the fact that everything is black?
Edit: Wow I didn't expect this to blow up overnight with nearly 300 responses. A lot of you make good points about going for DO shaders. Destiny tends to give us a lot of shaders that make us look like depressed clowns and it would only be logical to go after shaders that make us look good for once. I can't wait for the HoW shader so. Especially the third one that Petra will sell.

I went with future war cult for the Intellect+Discipline on the armor but Dead orbits shaders are cooler, might rank it up soon.

It's almost impossible to go wrong with black, regardless of what armor you're wearing.

Then there is the while black is badass thing in media in some cultures particularly American culture black is associated with the badassness. Edit: Example the speaker is suppose to be that guy and he wears black and white.

Each of my characters run their own faction. I believe the Hunter is more DO, their ideals are more like going out seeking things and their black and white is more stealthy more ninja. Titans are NM maintaining order, more like a protecting like a law enforcement. Warlocks are more FWC preparing for the inevitable, researching and been able to study the foreseeing danger. I may be wrong or not that accurate by hey to each own a opinion. [spoiler]sorry for my English[/spoiler]

2 RisposteBlack goes with everything. For the life of me, I can never find a shader that matches the purplish blue of the FWC gear. (Apart from the FWC shader, which is rarer than platinum.)

I liked the minimalist shaders. I still do it now because I still am one shader short of the full set, and the ship, and it would bother me to not get them all before I move on. I don't even use them often, which is was considering the 50+ levels dedicated to acquiring them
