Why are gamers so attracted to . . .
. . . the color black. A lot of the time I'm running through crucible or slapping Rahool in the tower, I see tons and tons of guardians wearing Dead Orbit's class item. The majority of people I've asked say they're doing it for the shaders that DO offers. Those shaders being a mix of black and white.
I personally have to ally myself with the Future War Cult.
So why are so many players attracted to Dead Orbit? Is it the guns? The armor? Or the fact that everything is black?
Edit: Wow I didn't expect this to blow up overnight with nearly 300 responses. A lot of you make good points about going for DO shaders. Destiny tends to give us a lot of shaders that make us look like depressed clowns and it would only be logical to go after shaders that make us look good for once. I can't wait for the HoW shader so. Especially the third one that Petra will sell.

1 RispondiA large part of it is that black is a simple color that goes with everything. It never goes out of style, and it rarely ever looks bad. In video games, and even in a large part of pop culture in general, black is most often associated with power, authority, and is generally linked to badasses. The prime example is the "Black Knight" archetype. Powerful, evil, usually a high-ranking adversary. Personally, part of the reason I'm so dead-set on getting Revenant is because it goes with the backstory I have in mind for my character: An Awoken Warlock who is a survivor of the Battle of Twilight Gap, known for wearing ash-stained robes. The other part is that, in the immortal words of Henry Ford, "You can have it in any color you want, so long as it's black." It's just cool.

Don't overly care about shaders, especially glowhoo which is just for people that think they are something special.

I change it up:- My Titan has the Sunsetting Shader from eris morn My hunter uses, I think it's called God of war, that red one My warlock is usually cryptographic but sometimes I might use provincial royale

If I can have a full time invisible shards I will use it.

1 RispondiTake a look toward my hunter and my titan., now take a look toward my warlok. The hunter and the titan have two of the three dead orbit shaders and both are awesome.

5 RisposteEh, each of my Guardians are allied with different factions. Warlock - New Monarchy Hunter - Future War Cult Titan - Dead Orbit I enjoy wearing the faction shaders for the sake of showing off that I have them.

I like the black and white shaders because they make the colored class items stand out more. more contrast

I personally like the hodgepodge of colors my hunters gear comes in. But sometimes I like the cleanliness and order that the DO SHADER brings to my armor. Wish I didn't have to grind the hell out of the faction to hopefully get a shader. Should be able to buy it like the shaders from Eris. Anyway now I'm ranting.

I'm a dedicated FWC man myself, but I see the appeal of the DO shaders. Black and white looks sharp.

Well i was FWC but it didn't take to me and -blam!- NM so i kinda liked the style of DO and i have a Deviant Gravity-A with counter balance and feild scout and that thing is like a head shot spree so i just really like DO cause i like their weapons and feel they fit a hunter. Tho My Tittan rules FWC and my Warlock digs the NM.

I did it for the weapons and shaders. Personally, on the political standpoint, I stand with FWC. But I don't like the weapons or gear.
