How do YOU beat Thorn?
It's time to UN-SCRUB!!!
I'm seeing a lot of posts on Thorn lately, and so have you. IB has brought out the Thorny-Pain-in-my-Felwinter's Lie side of people, so I want to know:
How do YOU counter Thorn?
If you're winning Thorn encounters 7+ times out of 10, what weapons are you using? Do you rush or evade?
I'm looking for (Gun + Tactic) = WIN

battlefield awareness. if i die i remember his name or look, while im killing others or taking control points i pay attention to where hes been dying. from there outplay and outsmart. just need 1 kill to start the race, then its like a moth to a flame.

4 RisposteYou counter Thorn exactly like you would a wrench. If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a darkness infused hand cannon blast. It's really that simple.

Well first off there are to main builds used for thorn. A stability build and a range build. Figuring out which your opponent is using is key. Stability builds are most common in pvp. If you see them spamming body shots at max RoF, then that's what they're using. Best counter for this is to out range them. Grab something like timurs or a scout with good range stats. Then look for the longest vantage points you can find for your target. Then either shoot from cover or keep moving. A stability build will rarely hit more than once at range, and if it does, it'll almost never be a headshot. Now if there's no long range then you can grab a shot gun and try to force point blank encounters. Or grab a fusion and corner while charging. You can also lead with tracking or large area grenades. Toss one in first to weaken then finish with quick crits. Another good option for mid range fights are red death and the vex. With both focus on head shots. While moving or in cover. Stability builds on thorn will have trouble with pinpoint shot and tracking targets while using a high RoF. TLW is also effective at close to mid. The other build is a range build. These will be the ones consistently two shoting. You'll see them shooting from cover at longer ranges and choke points. And using a much slower RoF. Out ranging with a sniper or scout can still work but is tougher. Timurs will still work to but it comes down to player skill and reaction time. To counter this build force close range encounters and equip accordingly. Flank when you can never charge head on unless you're being bait. The MIDA is great here for both dodging and closing the distance quickly. A Titan bubble can also help here.

TLW..if you don't land a head shot in the first two shots just dip til the next encounter. I usually win most gun battles 1v1 90% of the time but I rarely get those nowadays. The Vex Wrecks to you just gotta know how to use it or just get a sniper with unflinching and one shot em

Using my own Thorn and hiding a lot if everyone on other team is using it. It's ridiculous. -Red Death is only a reliable counter at medium distances. Too close and it shoots to slow to compete with Thorn, too far and its bullet spread makes it unreliable enough to be outgunned by Thorn insane stability. -TLW is only a reliable counter at short distances.

Ruin said thorn users with whichever gun I'm holding, once they die, proceed to sit on the floor and imagine their disappointment to see that the burn has mysteriously stopped early.

My counter to Thorn is a really fast firing Pulse Rifle. My Coiled Hiss 1919 is really good at kicking Thorn users at medium range, because a lot of Thorn users don't use Send It AND the hail of bullets from my pulse rifle really disorients them. In close ranged fights, I just pull out my shotgun and jump high in the hair to shoot them from above. You'd not believe how many people aren't prepared to aim upwards at you. On close maps I just pull out TLW. That's coming from someone who used to be a hard core Thorn user with Send It and did really well with it.
