Thorn is getting nerfed.
It's happening. Thorn will be nerfed and I don't disagree. All you whiners got just about every other good weapon nerfed and Thorn is next. And I'm happy about it! In fact, it'll probably be a hand cannon nerf as a whole.
Sure, I can out gun a Thorn user a lot of the time. But all it takes is two shots on target and then they run away and I'm left to burn until I die. No stopping it. Even if I kill the user, I'll still just keep burning. More often than not, when I'm killed by Thorn, it's not the gun itself, unless I'm already weak, it's the burn and the wielder is half way across the map by then.
The Hand Cannon time to kill is ridiculously low compared to other guns. Nerf inbound and I don't want to hear any bitching about it. I kept my mouth shut when every other weapon class was slapped with a nerf. All you Thorn whoring players better do the same.
Edit: Thorn was nerfed! Yay!!

With the over saturation of Thorn in PvP, they're going to do something to slightly discourage it from getting abused in Trials. At least, that would be the smart thing to do. I'm afraid to see whatever hate mail will be coming their way otherwise.

1 RispondiThorn is a three-shot, then burn kills. I've gotten two headshots on one person and they still died from the burn. Two shots is over exaggerated. But yes, this gun needs a nerf.

8 RisposteNope it won't happen. Why would Bungie nerf a weapon which is acquired threw an Exotic bounty. It's not like everyone has Thorn because getting the bounty is 100% random.

Thorn is an exotic bounty weapon, I'll agree with you, just s slight nerf. I vow to never use it or kill with it in crucible again, but I will hope I always outgun a thorn user with my suros regime.

Thorn and hand cannons are fine. Pulse rifles are fine. The only problem is auto rifles are useless. Buff auto rifles and balance will be restored to the crucible.

Thorn is fine but people will whine, so I assume it's coming and I'm ready for it I know they are going to buff auto rifles too soon so I've been stashing a few away. I'm going to say this the problem isn't that thorn is OP the problem is it's really obvious when you are getting shot with one. Hawk moon is worse by far but you don't hear about it, and why? Because it doesn't have green tracers and it doesn't make your screen show the DOT effect. You know when you've been hit by a thorn other weapons aren't as easy to determine unless you get a good look at them while your waiting to revive. Thorn is really more or less a victim of its own awesome particle effects. I have a thorn, I rarely use it and that's the truth. About the only place I feel the need to use it is on the shores of time where it's range is more effective. I have better weapons that work better for my build. I use the bad juju a lot. For how OP they say red death is I really don't see it. And I hammer thorn users all the time with TLW.

Skill based weapons do not need to be nerfed. Do you have any idea how hard it is to get headshots with it. Only skilled players can kill me with thorn, because most people miss several shots.

Thorn doesn't need a frikin nerf I mean come on it takes skill to do the pvp part if you only have rare crap I used a rare sniper and got thorn legit using skill so stop complaining about nerf I mean AR were destroyed because of the whiners.

What happens when Thorn becomes the next Suros? Then you will only see red death in the crucible. How about you all cry for a nerf to pulse rifles as well? Then the mida will dominate. And so on until all guns in the game are worse than fûcking no land beyond. The only time you crybabies will be happy with the balance of this game's multiplayer is when you are all dead. I'm a thorn whorer and I'm with you. It's good I can just 2-3 shot and burn them out. But it's too easy it feel like BO2 where I can lay out 8 enemies with a pistol.
