Who else can't wait for the Hand Cannon nerf?
Hand Cannons are OP end of story. I should not have to compete with a Thorn or Hawkmoon at sniper range for a sniper kill. Why does everyone run an Exotic HC in Crucible? Are they fun to use, sure but they are mostly overused because they are super broken. If you get in a 1v1 battle with somebody half decent that has an Exotic HC with anything but an Exotic HC YOU ARE GOING TO LOSE. That should not happen.
*for people on the app the second option is "Hand Cannons are perfectly fine as handheld power weapons with range and accuracy similar to a sniper rifle."

Now rewind several months, and replace Thorn with SUROS. Jump forward a little and witness the fall of SUROS. Now come back to the present, but go a bit further and witness the fall of Thorn. What do you see? Hand cannons are as bad as auto rifles. Red Death rules supreme in the crucible, the most beloved of weapons are now garbage, and we are stuck with weapon types that nobody uses except for the exotics because the rest of them suck.

The truth of it all is simple! PVP in destiny is a broken unbalanced mess. I won't call for nerfs or buffs. My solution is simple and it doesn't ruin anyone's fun that does like PVP! Just don't play PVP.

5 RisposteI have a feeling if they just restored auto rifles back to where they were before any patches everybody's problem would be solved because let's face it nobody like to using pulse rifles in the beginning Bungie just tried to force everybody to use different materials and different weapons because everybody was using auto rifles but the patch to nerf the hell out of them was un needed. Hand cannons are only really ope right now because nothing else even competes to the damage output they do except for shotguns and nobody ever has a demo for them anymore although I kind of like the new changes they put in the crucible instead of running around with a shotgun like I usually have to compete with op weapons now I'm only running around with a shotgun for like a minute out of every match and the rest of it I'm using my primary to try to statistically outmaneuver my enemy

Bungie has said on multiple occasions that their intent for weapon balancing is to make any type of weapon a valid choice for any activity. While it is not uncommon to see players using weapons other than hand cannons in crucible, it is almost unheard of to see a crucible match where at least half of the players are not sporting a hand cannon in some form. I feel that perhaps Bungie has not hit their mark with this weapon type (same could be said of auto rifles) as if they had a much broader spectrum of weapons would be used on a regular basis ultimately boiling down to player preference. I fully expect additional tweaks and changes to be made - hopefully Bungie will not be as gung-ho as they were with auto rifles for future weapon class re-balancing efforts, how often do most of us use an auto rifle for.. anything now a days?

What needs to be done for balance purposes is to nerf the auto/stickyaim. Less crazy easy headshots for all weapons and bring actual skill back to the game.

No exotic perks should be active in crucible. No DoT, no Health Regen, no TLW hipfire extra damage, etc.

If i get into a 1v1 with a thorn i will usually win with my red death If its short range ill probably lose but thats why i have my shotgun. That combo covers all ranges really well Close-mid range i will probably lose either way but thats the hand cannons sweet spot. I dont mean close and mid, i mean that grey area in between. I fear the last word more esp at the closer ranges. Dont kno hawkmoon I think the issue is that the other exotic primaries have mainly been nerfed Ar nerf Vex nerf Nlb natural nerf I feel mida multi would murder thorn at long range

2 RisposteNot going to call you a scrub or anything, I won't go on about how people complaining in forums are the reason the game will slowly come to a stand still leaving many gamers pissed off at the fact any weapon half decent to use eventually gets a nerf. All I'll say is, I've out gunned people using Thorn and The Last Word using Oversoul Edict before...and I don't consider myself an all that Crucible player at all. Everyone has access to the same weapons, if you don't have the required weapon, you certainly have access to the route of getting it. Why people are upset at others using a particular weapon has always confused me.

Hand cannons are designed to be the ideal 1v1 weapons. A good HC user will pick his fights and single people out. Approach them with a group and their mag won't be big enough. As for sniping, the only hand cannon that's gotten insane ranges like this for me is Timur's Lash. Mine has range finder and there's nothing I can't hit.
