Are you leveling your armor or guns up first?
I'm leaning towards armor. It depends on how easy the new material is to obtain.
Edit. One reply reminded me. What class to level first?!? I love all three for different reasons. I don't have a "main character"

1 RispondiUpgrading armor and buying new guns. I'll have my vanguard marks maxed on all 3 characters and crucible marks maxed on at least one character for buying guns.

Armor, because you can get a lot of use out of an exotic primary (which doesn't take etheric light) while you catch up.

Exotics will be easy to level up. The first legendary I will level will be armor.

Won't matter now that armor comes with its maximum light level already unlocked. Same thing with weapon damage. So it's just about which perks you want first

You can be a level 32 with all the new maxed guns you can carry, but your damage will still be reduced against higher level enemies. Of course, off the start, most people will end up raising the level of their exotics because those don't use the new upgrade material.

Exotic armor > legendary armor > exotic weapon > legendary weapon. Option 1 can be accomplished as soon as HoW goes live, granted you have Exotic Shards stock piled. Get the level advantage within minutes of the update. And you get a 365 exotic gun to go with that level 32 & a half or 33 build. Should make things easier day one. Option 2 will require luck and tons of time investment to accomplish on day one because you will need to farm light shards aka EL. I fear drop rates for light shards will be extremely low.

1 RispondiDepends on how difficult the upgrade mats are to achieve. I want to say armor but it might be a blend - 1 armor, 1 weapon, etc.

1 RispondiI'm upgrading fatebringer, gjally with a shard, then focusing on armor. I hope to be able to see all the available gear because I plan on mixing and matching gear from all dlc to achieve my look

2 RispostePlenty of exotics first, since I have plenty Exotic shards. I'll try for the new tier of armor first though, instead of upgrading my current gear.

Armor then guns. Being equivalent light level is much more of a concern than the 10% damage increase the new weapons will have.
