I'm a 13 year old boy who likes playing destiny but, even when doing raids, I am afraid of speaking in party chat because my voice is quite high which annoys people making them kick me from parties and raids... I'm not annoying and I'm mature.
My question is -
Should I speak in party chat with my fire team and risk getting told that I'm a gay little -blam!- or should I stay the way I am?
Sorry if I can't reply to everyone!
Edit: a lot of people have been asking for what console I play on. I play on Xbox 360 and my GT is Static Gridlock

There are a lot of good and nice people online. It just so happens that you hear of the bad encounters more then the good ones
-
Honestly, just don't be a douche and you'll be fine.
-
Just get kicked if they kick you and join another group. Never be afraid to speak. I would join 5,000 groups before not speaking in fear of people angered at my voice. If you are on ps4 and you get into a raid with me speak up buddy and if someone is mean because of your voice I will boot them personally. We can always grab someone else of the forums.

6 RisposteLmfao. The only exotic this kids got is ghorn! lol all you losers "I can't get ghorn posts". This squeakers got one.
-
I'm also thirteen and what I do is just talk when I have to... For example if I was the one with the sword killing crota I would say FIRE... You can't make that many judgements from saying that one word...

1 RispondiSqueakers are annoying to me. That being said I'll still play with them as long as they don't act like squeakers. I won't mention in chat that you're annoying. I'll endure it silently. I try not to be a dick to randoms I raid with. You start barking and yelping over your rewards and stuff though it's insta mute. Good luck kiddo it'll pass.

The best players I've seen in this game are as young as you
-
2 RisposteActually on PS3 you have a voice modifier. Haha. I'm 31 and I don't mind a kids voice as long he knows how/when to talk. So don't be afraid of talking. :)
-
1 RispondiIf you're on xbox one you can gladly run the raid with me. I'm only fourteen and got a few others.
-
I'm a 14 year old. I used to have that problem now I found the guys to play with I have a about 5 friends that are my age. Then about 10 that are above 20 and they don't mind. I have been friends with them for about 2 months and I play with them all the time. I think you just need to find the right people. And don't be afraid. If they kick you It's there loss because that have to find another person which can take a while. Then they could just all quit.

1 RispondiHave your mic in, say hi but mute your mic unless you need to talk.
-
1 RispondiPretend to be a girl
-
Anyone who kicks you because your voice is too high shouldn't be playing a team-based game anyway. Take time, you'll find a team who doesn't judge by anything but your skills and/or willingness to learn.
-
1 RispondiHave old barry manilow interviews que'd up and ready to go if things start to go south
-
1 RispondiBe amazing at what you do and you'll be fine. Shoot me an invite/msg if you need help any time. I use no mic ( I am the "Silent Dancing Raider" ) so no worries :D
-
1 RispondiAs long as you're useful and good at the game as everybody else, don't mean anything to me. Besides, this game is T for Teen. I've had raid groups with 3 preteens or whatever your kind is called, and haven't had to kick them for any reason.

Modificato da Lucius Aelius: 4/19/2015 3:23:41 PMThe fact is that adults tend to not like playing with kids, it's not your fault and there's not a whole lot you can do about it besides growing up yourself, which doesn't solve your problem any time soon. I'd recommend that you do talk in activities that it would help a lot, Raids definitely included, just make sure you keep talking to an absolute bare minimum and don't chit-chat, only speak if you're spoken to or if you have something important game-related to say. I certainly wouldn't kick you just for being a kid, but the more you talk the more I'd probably want to. Just recognize that it isn't your fault, adults just get annoyed really easily by kids, the fact is kids are pretty much all -blam!-ing crazy, trust me we were kids too we remember what it was like, and now that we've grown out of being crazy little shits ourselves we find it harder to tolerate other people who haven't grown out of it yet. Just do your best to be cool, be straightforward about what you know/don't know how to do when finding people to play with, and I'd even recommend saying in any LFG posts that you're 13 with a mic who will only talk when necessary, it'll definitely make it harder to find a group but any group you do find will know what they're getting and won't invite you unless you're welcome.

4 RisposteJust don't talk too much. In my experience younger players always talk way too -blam!-ing much and it's annoying as hell
-
1 RispondiXbone? You can add me if so. I don't care about playing with younger players. Honestly I suggest talking, and if people give you a hard time, just find a new fireteam. Over time you will find a group of players that suit you. One piece of advice I would give is not to overly talk. It annoys me when people do that in general, and it is something younger players sometimes do. Especially with a random group of people you don't want one person monopolizing the mic, because everybody needs to be able to communicate.

Voice changer XD I am 14 year old boy and the people didn't say anything bad when i play with them. If you want, use a voice changer ;)
-
Well don't scream in terror or shriek with excitement or bounce around refusing to play the team-oriented game. Don't overwhelm the chat channel. Don't screw your team. None of those advices are age-dependent.
-
Never trust the quiet ones!

Modificato da DustyDark Horse: 4/19/2015 3:37:44 PMJust join a clan of players around the same age as you. Problem solved. Don't care how good a game is, if you're uncomfortable with the people you're playing with you're not going to enjoy the game nearly as much as you should be able to Edit: this problem isn't anyone's fault at all, truth is alot of older gamers myself included are very uncomfortable playing with someone that much younger. Generational gap gets wider the faster tech evolves. Could not imagine growing up with netflix. Hell I played MK2 and Sonic 2 most of my childhood lol
-
Modificato da Chit Chat: 4/19/2015 3:27:21 PMYes showing maturity and not hogging the chat lines up is a plus. Older kids and adults can talk a lot and no one else can hear anyone else. Very annoying.

Its ok to be a squeaker but some are just obnoxious and wont stop talking about irrelevant shit. If they kick you well -blam!- them.
