Why does everyone give this guy such a hard time? Name one other game where everyone knows the community managers name? Keep up the great work DeeJ!

2 RisposteI think he has done a good job considering the awful, whiny, entitled, and narcissistic fan base Destiny has.
-
One game like this is cod black ops 2 where David vanderhar (probably didn't spell right ) gets all the hate messages for guns being unbalanced and that sort of thing

DeeJ is like a waiter. He makes it look nice and pretty no matter how bad the cook screwed it up. Then the customer (Us) notices and complains. Obviously, the waiter (DeeJ) will be the one to get the complaint and catch all the flak that the customer throws at him though he didn't prepare the meal. So he takes the screwed up plate back to the cook and tells him that the customer hated it and it sucked. The problem is the cook (Bungie) isn't serving a satisfactory meal so the waiter keeps bringing the undercooked meal (Destiny) to the customer and so DeeJ's job will always suck. These forums and the destiny subreddit are not a nice place so I feel sorry for DeeJ because most people on here are complete dicks

Thank you for sharing.

19 RisposteTo the people who say he should be fired/he's bad at his job: Can you do his job better? Do you know how his job works? Would you be able to deal with this community? Do you understand the importance and aspects of his job?

4 RisposteGive the guy a break. He only communicates what he is ALLOWED to by Bungie. His hands are completely tied. He is just the voice of Bungie, a middle man.
-
-blam!- I would hate his job can you imagine how much he hears buff nerf and gjallahorn

3 Risposteuhhh... every other community? they all have CMs and people that follow their forums and updates know their names too but on topic... it was a good podcast, he does seem like a decent guy.. but why cant he be like that here?

7 RisposteI give DeeJ a hard time because he's a lying sack of shit. A brown nosing moron so to speak. So no I don't respect him and I never will. Don't care for liars.

5 RisposteModificato da Willie Killigan: 4/12/2015 12:22:33 PMIf this was a real community, not a cyber one and Deej was managing it how would you grade his job performance? Granted this isn't a REAL community but if it were people are currently rioting in the streets, protesting endlessly, kids crying, adults crying, toxic filled hate mixed together with fanatical zeal and self entitlement. And what is Deej doing? Talking to the ravenous community as if nothing whatsoever is happening. Popping jokes and sharing meaningless anicdotes. After his weekly speech he disappears without acknowledging a single comment left by his broken community. I've been on other gaming forums, where the community manager is much more helpful and useful. I'm in no position to judge the man personally, but when it comes to managing a online community, he's doing a lousy job.
-
2 RisposteCheck how many forum post DeeJ makes each week. Then tell me that he properly engages with the Destiny community in his role as community manager. He states that he prefers to listen rather than participate. That is not two way communication. After listening to this interview, I believe DeeJ should go into politics, given his attempts to justify his job title.

Mortal Kombat. Ed Boon.
That's all I got though.
55 RisposteModificato da Jack Reacher: 4/11/2015 10:51:29 PM"I don't get how anyone could support deej. He's terrible at his job, doesn't give a shit about the community, and had to disable comments for weekly updates because he couldn't handle the backlash." -OG Cayde, truth speaker
-
4 RisposteHalo Waypoint had Jessica "bs angel" Shea and now they have Andy "Bravo" Dudynsky. Just saying... DeeJ is not a special snowflake lol.

1 RispondiI agree I literally just made a post about this very topic. If you could bump it, we are trying to get DeeJ's attention and tell him how much we appreciate him.

2 RisposteWhen you go to purchase a product, let's say you go to a restaurant or lowes hardware orrrr stay at a hotel. Think of the last 5 times you did all of those things. Most of the time you likely didn't have to interact with a manager, and if you did it was probably to address an issue or problem someone was having. Keep in mind, Bungie doesn't allow you to comment on their updates while simultaneously sticking to their dogma of "we want to know what you think, the players." There have been a landslide of requests for more information regarding their product but the way they go about responding has been an embarrassment to their brand and insulting to their player base. Don't be mistaken, Deej's involvement in the community had a direct relationship with the overwhelming surplus of complaints about their product. Although you may feel touched to see his involvement, when you consider without bias the circumstances of his involvement, one can easily see that this is no mere gesture of kindness. It's damage control.
