Now, before we begin all this I would just like to say that the Gjallarhorn debacle began months ago when a certain team posted a video of finishing off Atheon in Record time. I searched at topics before this time and the only thing I could actually find was the normal "I earned my Gjallarhorn". With that being said, let's look at all the different and why they make no sense whatsoever in the argument of "Why Xur shouldn't sell Gjallarhorn". We'll start with the most common of course(and yes I do know he sold it once before I was there for week 2).
Xur shouldn't sell it will be a less special/unique exotic
Whenever I read I can possibly see the reason for this even being remotely true. Any Gjallarhorn is going to be the same. It will be the same as anyone else. It will have the same damage type, power, and perks as any other Gjallarhorn. The only difference that any other Gjallarhorn will have from one another is the world materials used to upgrade it. Basically, whenever anyone says this they are really covering up for themselves. They are really saying that they will be a less special/unique player.
The game would be too easy if everyone had a Gjallarhorn
First off, this is an RPG, that is it the whole point of getting gear, to become more powerful and make the game easier. Secondly, I have seen what happens when a full fire team use Gjallarhorn outside of raids and solar burn nightfalls. Even with the 21 rocket solute they give bosses they might take the boss from 1/3 to 1/2 of their max health. Let's face it, no one uses Heavy Synths for basic strikes so unless everyone saved up all their heavy for a boss they aren't going to do the maximum amount of damage possible.I have seen people take out bosses faster with Black Hammer. As for PVP, this rocket launcher is only slightly better than other normal cluster bomb launchers in the fact that the bomb home in, but unless you are lucky it will be like any other normal launcher, you would be better to use Truth or Thunderlord for a heavy exotic if you have either.
Gjallarhorn shouldn't be sold because it will get nerfed
This I believe was a scare that was started because the SUROS Regime was sold a few times and then was nerfed. It wasn't nerfed because Xur sold it, it was nerfed for being over used and being more powerful than it was supposed to be in PVP. That is also why Mythoclast got nerfed and shotguns continue to be nerfed. If a weapon was going to be nerfed just for being sold multiple times then No Land Beyond, Truth, Red Death, Plan C, Ice Breaker, Mida Multi Tool, and many others would have received nerfs before. Red Death was sold TWICE before the exotic patch and it got buffed to have a better rate of fire. Bungie literately looks at what is being overused in PVP by players and underused in PVE (shotguns getting buffed damage by 100% is proof of that) and that is what they base nerfs and buffs in anything. Once again, Gjallarhorn is a slightly above average launcher in PVP and honestly could be replaced with Hunger of Crota, and, again, gets out done by Truth(which was sold twice by Xur before the exotic patch and was buffed to have 3 rockets at a time) and Thunderlord. It would not receive a nerf since it works perfectly as intended.
Now, why should Xur sell Gjallarhorn. There are actually a lot of benefits to him selling it. It would end the constant elitism that has cropped up since hard mode Crota's end (I have seen tons of LFG stating "32 Only, Max Gjallarhorn"). Choosing teams would now be based on a person's skill and not their equips any more.
Sadly, I know that there are some toxic people in the community who will still be elitists because that is how they are, but over all it would help the community out more and take away some of the toxicity among us.
Edit 1: Some of the toxic people have already reared they shameful head and started with attack. It's ok though, I looked through their profiles and character. 2 out of 3 of them had a 139 Discipline Heart of the Praxic Fire and another had little to no kills on the exotic Xur has sold recently. If you people are going to be hypocrites, at least try to hide it better.
Edit 2: All the silly elitist can't come up with a good argument against anything honestly. Guess if you can't argue your mind goes to it's 12 year old state of and you start claiming "Cry a River" or "Get Gud". Sadly, these people are also Xbox players. I am so sorry for people who have to play with these idiotic people at any point on Xbox Live.

https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/115152765/0/0 I agree and just found your post. Great minds think alike.
-
Xûr should sell Gjallarhorn. I believe this because everyone will buy the launcher, and this will lead to it being nerfed because people will whine, thus ending the sometimes EXTREMELY annoying Gjallarhorn fan base.
-
If he sells it the game would be ruined so I hope that bungie doesn't sell it ghorn is meant to be grinded for and if just about everyone got one that game would be way to easy if he sells it I hope they make it 60 coins or something so the people who grinded since day one and the chance can get it
-
Xur can t sold gjallarhorn because is too strong

1 RispondiAhh people always have it out for us xbox players lol. I don't have ghorn and i got 3/4 of my exotic gear from xur.
-
1 RispondiHey I agree with u 99.9 percent of what u said. The 0.1 percent? I'm an Xbox player, and I'm not an elitist. Other Xbox users are though. Good topic though. :)
-
2 RisposteTwo simple words are the reason It's really not going to matter if he sells it. ICE BREAKER!!! Was sold, everyone claimed and cried it would break the game, it didn't break the game and no one gives 2 shits who's got it now.........?????
-
1 Rispondii have gjallahorn and i dont mind the rest of the community buying it soon from xûr, as long as he delivers me a thunderlord soonish too in all fairness - xûr SHOULD sell the gjallahorn again - if he doesnt it just makes bungie look like morons for creating such an overpowered exotic that they had to remove it from xûrs inventory if gjallahorn is so powerful then why is it more aquirable then other exotics like the mythoclast etc?
-
haha people won't be elitist anymore, that's your "benefit", this is the worst argument I've seen yet hahaha
-
I want him to sell it. The forums will explode and I will love it.
-
If they care they would of sold it already don't hold your breath, bungie know this is the only reason most players are still playing. If xur sells it it will be when bungie don't need that carrot anymore week before HOW maybe
-
2 RisposteXur should never sell it, and people should shut up and stop bitching and complaining about it. Keep playing, you'll get it someday.
-
1 RispondiGjallarhorn will be sold again soon enough. If Xur is TRULY random, then it will get its time in the sun again. Or if Xur is controlled by Bungie then it can be used as a carrot to draw players back before HoW drops to rebuild interest. Would it break the game? No. I'd love one it's the only exotic I need now!

1 RispondiThermodynamics is a branch of physics concerned with heat and temperature and their relation to energy and work. It defines macroscopic variables, such as internal energy, entropy, and pressure, that partly describe a body of matter or radiation. It states that the behavior of those variables is subject to general constraints, that are common to all materials, not the peculiar properties of particular materials. These general constraints are expressed in the four laws of thermodynamics. Thermodynamics describes the bulk behavior of the body, not the microscopic behaviors of the very large numbers of its microscopic constituents, such as molecules. Its laws are explained by statistical mechanics, in terms of the microscopic constituents. Thermodynamics applies to a wide variety of topics in science and engineering. Historically, thermodynamics developed out of a desire to increase the efficiency and power output of early steam engines, particularly through the work of the French physicist Nicolas Léonard Sadi Carnot (1824) who believed that the efficiency of heat engines was the key that could help France win the Napoleonic Wars.[1] The Irish-born British physicist Lord Kelvin was the first to formulate a concise definition of thermodynamics in 1854:[2] "Thermo-dynamics is the subject of the relation of heat to forces acting between contiguous parts of bodies, and the relation of heat to electrical agency." Initially, thermodynamics, as applied to heat engines, was concerned with the thermal properties of their 'working materials', such as steam, in an effort to increase the efficiency and power output of engines. Thermodynamics was later expanded to the study of energy transfers in chemical processes, such as the investigation, published in 1840, of the heats of chemical reactions[3] by Germain Hess, which was not originally explicitly concerned with the relation between energy exchanges by heat and work. From this evolved the study of Chemical thermodynamics and the role of entropy in chemical reactions.

7 RisposteWhen I first bought this game, I had the idea that exotics were suppose to be the best weapons in the game, they were suppose to be special. However, Xur quickly reduced this thought to ashes by selling all but one exotic...thus ruining the specialness of exotics. With that being said, I'd prefer he didn't. But that's because I have an idea of what exotics should be like, and Xur selling it conflicts with that. Now, in my opinion....no one can make a cohesive, rational argument for Xur selling Gjalalrhorn. Even your post's argument has flaws. For example, you mentioned that selling Gjallarhorn would disband the "Gjallarhorn elitist." No, it will only alter them. They will argue that they didn't "Xurn" their Gjallarhorn. So the elite groups will still be there. On the other hand, no one can make a cohesive argument on why he shouldn't. Unless you use the "special" argument. But the curse otherwise known as Xur has proven that exotics weren't meant to be special. They were meant for everyone to have. I personally think it's better for the community that Xur not sell it. The wild goose chase, heartache of chasing it will keep the players playing. And no matter how much they whine and cry about it, they will keep playing. Just my thoughts.

Gjalla isn't required to complete any or every aspect of this game. There are other weapons just as equip or similar that do the same job. Having said that, given that the vast majority does not have Gjalla it would be only right that Xur sold it one more time pre-HoW. Frankly, anyone who would complain that Xur ruins the uniqueness of an exotic is close-minded. In addition, if that same person would say they "earned" the weapon or has never completed an exotic bounty (which at most are time consuming) should complain even less. Verdict: sell Gjalla one more time and leave it at that. It is not the be all & end all but at least it will stop the overall crying of the community pro/against Gjalla sale.
-
Tl;dr They should make an exotic bounty for it that combines the thorn pvp aspect and a flawless raider section in order to get it. There you go, everyone has a chance to get it, just git gud. Then they can all see that having a certain gun doesn't make you a good player.
-
Nah. Most people had their chance when it was sold week two.
-
I'm no elitist but I don't think it should be sold. There are certain guns I think shouldn't be sold going forward and they are TLW, Gjallarhorn, and Thunderlord. RNG is a huge flaw in the game there's no denying that but Gjallarhorn is the cream of the crop exotic weapon. If you have it you'll know what I mean. I hardly even consider it exotic it should be labelled as epic or something, it's that good. If it were to be sold it should be sold for no less than 75 strange coins. You can't possibly have every player in destiny running around with it, the designer of this weapon wanted it to be far superior than any other exotic. I'm sorry if you don't have it but this weapon will completely lose it's identity and stature if it can be acquired for 23 strange coins. Did you earn it through RNG? No but you certainly won't earn it by tossing a few coins at xur. Getting strange coins is not difficult by any means, there is no earning in this game. Even a hobo can scrap together enough change for a Big Mac.
-
3 RisposteWhat, do you want Bungie to edit Xûr's inventory to sell "Gold Wrapped Gjallarhorn," that gives you a maxed 365A Gjallarhorn so you can stop begging for it on the forums and not have to play the game like we did to get it?
-
-
I don't think he will sell it again and if what Bungie says is true.....it has been removed from his inventory. So.........grind on.
-
Modificato da Arizona: 4/11/2015 3:58:00 AMSadly, most players probably never played an RPG game where gear was earned and was title worthy, RNG isn't earning at all, you got lucky. Sadly most players don't realize this. I want Xur to sell it so I can finally have all the exotics weapons. and plus, if you saved up your coins for it, then you kinda earned it
-
The argument isn't what will happen if xur sells it, nor is it what will happen if he never does. The argument is between whining crybabies and elite pricks. The crybabies want xur to sell it because they feel entitled to have it. The pricks don't want him to because they feel entitled for having it. The argument has points(?) on both sides. Most of the people making gally posts and crying that they don't have it are terrible. They're usually the type who gets carried and if they don't get what they want. They rage quit, blaming a random number generator for their fury. Which is stupid. A rng doesn't have biasis, it just makes a random number. Getting mad at that is stupid. The misplaced rage of stupidity is why I don't think you should have one. (More on that later) The "elite" are just as dumb. They don't want everyone to have it. Because they want to feel special. They want to you need them for a crota cp or other bosses. Well it's a video game, so stfu. (You don't deserve one either) In short both of these extreme player bases should just have their gjallahorn removed and then have it locked so they can never get one. Bungie should hire someone to patrol the forums looking for elite or crybaby posts. Then those accounts have the gjallahorn deleted and locked. If they don't have it just lock it. Problem solved and us sane people, can move on with our chances to aquire a gjallahorn. Or, if you already have one. Enjoy using it in peace. #DumbShitsOnBothSides

2 Rispostei agree that xur should sell it. not only because i dont have one but because of the elitist crap you talked about. i had an idea and for some reason people seem to think its stupid lol. the idea is if they want to keep it "sacred and scarce" they should sell it but sell it for like 40 or more SC. alot of people struggle for 20 SC a week. if they sprung it on people like say after a week of something really good. people wouldnt know and spend up their coins. bam only those who have alot can buy. id buy 3 at 100 SC eaech
