Those of you who Xurned Suros
Y'all are what's killing the community. Xurning weapons isn't earning at all. He might as well have been giving you the Suros for free. I've EARNED 3 Suros. I think I'm putting down destiny for good now that everyone has my favorite weapon without earning it like me.
My first one was from first place in crucible=earned
My second was while running sword on hard crota=earned
My third was from soloing Ir Yut on hard=earned
I also earned every exotic Xbox has minus pocket infinity and super good advice. And I also have every exotic armor piece for every character except crest for Titan.

I remember when I got my first suros, back in Oct when exotic where still rare and hard to find back when criptart was the final boss and turned everything into a blue or green. Just finished nightfall it was a hard fight with many wipes but finished it and there on the screen it was the last three coins i needed to go buy it from xür, but than the nurf cries can bungie tried to "fix" it and we all know what happened after that.

Xbox says I have over 2000 hours of game time played. Lots of people have more lots have less. So should I feel bad for using coins that are earned to buy gear that Xur sells? I got my Gally running back from gorgon checkpoint like a lot of other people do every week (after about 1600 hours). I'm glad I have Gally but there's no feeling of earning that. The drops are rng no matter what you do or how you finnish. I couldn't care how somebody gets their gear. The people that cheat and glitch are what ruins the game not people who buy their gear from Xur.

Definition of earning, source -- http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/earning VERB (Used with object) -- to gain or get in return for one's labor or service You can EARN exotics from RNG (which is just being lucky)... Or you can EARN your exotics by getting strange coins, from doing weeklies (and other sources), and then turning in that hard work for an exotic from the selection provided... This can also be said for getting it through raids you earned it by reaching that point, but it was still given to you by RNG

The game didn't recognize anything. It rolled a dice and decided to give you a thing based on a number. The only difference between that Suros and a Engram with 2 ascendant mats is quite possibly the time you got it. (A fair amount of basic RNG uses current time as the seed for for it's roll.) At least you could argue that by beating the weekly you were rewarded 9 strange coins to spend how you please. Also: Abyss Defiant > Suros Regime
