Bungie just murdered special weapons.
What do you guys think of the upcoming update? I don't mind it.
They pretty much took away all special ammo in crucible.

Which, will likewise decrease use of exotic primaries. We are getting closer to balance imho. [spoiler]I also think that FRs will make a huge comeback because of this. A mid range weapon will have a greater number of situations it can be used. And many legendary FRs can either grant ammo on spawn or with kills. These worthless perks now will be staples down the road.[/spoiler]

I think it's good. This way [i]special [/i]ammo, for [i]special [/i]weapons actually becomes [i]special[/i]. I mean, people should rely on their primary, and switch to Special when the situation caters for it. But if everyone is using the special/heavy weapons 85% of the time, and on rare occasions use the primary, something is wrong. I'm not a good nor especially bad player. I don't play much PvP anymore, but when I did I relied on Thorn/Shotty most of the time. Like most people. But I always felt that something shoudl be done about PvP, because... it sucked.

The game is not being changed for the bad players it is being changed for the competitive community that keeps giving pvp negative reviews. If you do your research you will find that all the records in this pvp game are held by almost only blink bladedancers using felwinter's lie as their "primary" going around sliding and blinking and almost never using their primaries. It isn't normal and super boring as the main skill now is sliding and shooting and nothing else really is being done.

3 RisposteThey didn't kill them off completely but it's going to make players have to play smarter with their Shotguns, Fusion Rifles and Snipers which makes the game a bit more strategical.

1 RispondiOr did special weapons murder the crucible? Seriously, people run around the map with shottys and fusions using it as a primary. This move cuts that out of the equation and turns them into a more precious resource. I'm looking forward to this update and to how it effects the flow of battle

Good, now people can learn why a primary weapon is called a primary weapon. Oh the lol's I'll get when people who are bad with their primary are forced to use it.

I tend to use shotguns defensively, if somebody's rushing me, so it suits my play style :) Also, we don't know exactly how the update will affect special ammo drops, it might not change it all that much.
