How about this: since you don't have a Ghorn use an icebreaker to be on boomer patrol. That's what my fireteam does when someone doesn't have a decent launcher for crota.

My team always has boomer patrol 1 guy kills one n tickles the other with primary while the rest shoot saves my ass n gets it done first or 2nd try every time not once do I die by boomer

You shoot at the boomers on the side that the sword bearer is on to keep them from shooting the sword bearer you just make sure you don't kill them.
