Here's my predicament:
I want to get to 32 as fast as I can. I've got the gear I need, but it seems that every Crota run I complete, I only get enough shards to level one defensive upgrade for one piece of gear. So, I think I'm debating on trying to get into a Hard Mode group (which will probably be harder than HM itself).
Do you think I have a chance?
EDIT: Wow, a lot of positive replies. Thanks everyone. I was expecting to get domed on in the comments.
EDIT 2: Thanks again for the replies everyone.
I ended up joining a Fireteam, and made it past the Deathsinger (until our Fireteam leader and his friends left). Needless to say, I had plenty of deaths. Especially the Bridge and Ir Yut.
Guess there is always tomorrow to finish Crota himself.

What console?

Short answer, Yes Long Answer: The best way to get to 32, is to have 3 level 31's. If you run CE 3 times a week, rather than once, you will get a far greater amount of shards and energies.
-
2 RisposteWhy do people worry so much about this, Jesus I play with 32's who can't even survive a weekly or a nightfall. I was using my warlock that at the time was a level 27.

I did it last saturday, with a few friends. I don't even think I was the only 31. ( and no we didn't have all Ghorns either). I helped out a lot with the deathsinger part. We downed crota in 2 swords! I may not have done huge amounts of damage but I sure killed a few boomers and thralls. made sure the swordbearer could do his job.

You will be notably less useful, especially come the Crota fight, but the lamps, bridge, and Ir Yut are easy enough you should be able to get through it. Maybe not a full team of 31s, but a 31 is not an immediate raid killer. As long as you do your best to not die, and contribute as much as you can, you'll be fine.

As is your character should preform ok. Having a maxed level weapon in all slots would be the best scenario. And a helmet that has health regen would be even better. Take cover in the crystal room and be extra careful durring the ogres and you should be fine though. I did it plenty when I was 31, so trust me on the weapon and armor tips, but once again you should he fine. Level that Ghorn and people will be much happier having you. I had one maxed and it makes a difference when asking for groups. Good luck though.

I've done it before on 31, it depends on you and your fireteam.

Ive done hard crota and I survived for most of it being only a 31

Modificato da z51_nik_b: 3/26/2015 8:45:33 PMBest it as a 31 sword bearer. Another group we beat it with 1 32 and 3 31s. Edit: what console?
-
Yes easy. Which platform are you on if your on ps4 im running 2 raids later today
-
Yea I did crota for the first time last night with my mates brother and he only does it on hard mode ! He got me through it in an hour and a half. I got a pulse rifle auto rifle and a hand cannon but no armour only a cloak though
-
A 30 can go thru hard...well if he's carried
-
It's really easy
-
really only need a 32 for the sword.

Modificato da foz594: 3/26/2015 8:44:47 PMI got my first hard mode clear at 31, very shortly after I got my first normal mode clear. I have actually just started raiding so don't have a lot of clears but I also had the luxury of being with a very solid clan and a very good raiding group. We run together, get to know each other and rely on each other. Everyone takes the time to explain each step of the raid, nobody gets uptight if someone messes up (and we all do occasionally) and we just take care of business. In fact, I just finally hit 32 last night after finishing our normal clear and then we rolled straight into another hard mode run. Best advice I can give you is don't raid with randoms. Get a steady group. Learn it together and communicate. Oh and make sure you don't try to Rambo anything. Have a way to heal (red death, helm with infusion, etc) and a well-leveled tracking launcher of some sort. Can you do it without them? Yes. It's much easier with, though. FWIW I personally think Crota is pretty easy (except for the glitches). VoG is quite a bit more challenging.

You'll be fine.
-
Ya we run hm crota with LvL 30s all the time
-
Yes. If you know what you're doing and can execute 31s have no issue in hard.
-
It's not surviving crota... It's getting to that point and knowing what you need to do flawlessly... There's a reason it's called hard mode and they are level 33...
-
1 RispondiHalf the time hard mode goes like this: Do we have a hunter who can solo the abyss? Cool, you do that and we will wait here. Do we have a warlock with self revive? Cool, let's send one guy across and cheese it. SPRINT! Yay chest. That's about half the raid and you have had nothing to do as a 31. Lots of shards/energy. Get a couple shots on the deathsinger before you die, then have tracking rockets and a way to heal for Crota. No problem.
-
Yes. Technically a 30 can 2. I did on my hunter

Yes, my only advice (not a requirement and really it is nothing you can quantify) but being a very skilled player will help. I say this because being a light level under the cap puts your character at a disadvantage, therefore you need to be smart while running it. I mean a 31 should not try and take on a hallowed 33 night on their own. Basically I take any 31s but if you're just trash and you just continuously die because you're screwing around then ppl will get mad about you being a 31.

31s isn't too much of an issue as long as everyone knows the fight.
