Can a 31 Survive HM Crota?
Here's my predicament:
I want to get to 32 as fast as I can. I've got the gear I need, but it seems that every Crota run I complete, I only get enough shards to level one defensive upgrade for one piece of gear. So, I think I'm debating on trying to get into a Hard Mode group (which will probably be harder than HM itself).
Do you think I have a chance?

I ended up joining a Fireteam, and made it past the Deathsinger (until our Fireteam leader and his friends left). Needless to say, I had plenty of deaths. Especially the Bridge and Ir Yut.
Guess there is always tomorrow to finish Crota himself.

Just do normal a few more times to rank up your gear. No rush to get to 32.

You can survive, sure. You won't be contributing a hell of a lot though, so don't be surprised if you have a hard time finding a group.

I've run hard mode more than once at lvl 30 while leveling a new character, you'll be fine if you play smart.

A few of my buddies do just fine with their 31's. We had one run with 3 31's and cleared it first try.

As long as you have a max tracking rocket and can heal off orbs, you are all set. These aren't required but as a 31 it will help your cause trying to get on a fireteam.
