How do you feel about the credibility of a higher K/D players vs a player with a lower K/D? Should a players opinions and views be respected the same regardless of their K/D? Why should K/D be an indication for you to take a player seriously or not? Should it matter? What are you views on the matter?

Depends having a high kd in control doesn't mean a lot if they have hardly any zone caps. because they're just camping for kills and not playing the game type. But if they have lots of zone caps or a high kd in a purely kills based game mode like rumble or clash. Then they're likely to be skilled and there advice could be more beneficial than someone's with a low kd.

Does a bear shit in the woods?

9 RisposteThe higher the kd the better strats and skill that player has. Whether it be from long hours of play or the fact they are just good at video games and learn fast. I would take advice from anyone with a kd of 2.0 or higher versus someone with below a 1.0. This is a no brainer, why even ask this question

K/D doesn't matter to me. I play for fun using different weapons like NLB, nechro, ect. I dont always wanna try super hard.
-
65 RisposteIt depends. K/D can be indicative of a conservative playstyle that isn't necessarily effective. A player can have an average K/D, but keep control of important map positioning, like making sure spawns don't get flip, which boosts their team's effectiveness. But, a player that can put up big K/D's with high scores definitely earns a lot of respect.

2 RisposteNo, because I like to screw around in PvP. But in the end if I need to do good I'll do good, but using the NLB is a lot more fun even if it means I get a worse k/d, its a gun and in the end its all about having fun.

3 RisposteThe kd was good until we start playing sweatys lmao
-
Imo attitude is better than any fictional number on here If they have a high kd but they're just an asshole What's the point ?
-
Good character will get my respect, not high or low KD.
-
4 RisposteHey man I brought my Lego's and maybe we can play!
-
4 RisposteIt doesn't matter all that much. This game has no legit competitive now nor any signs of it ever happening. Talking about kd in a pure pub only game is whack.
-
I don't really care, but if they're bragging or putting others down and they have a under a 1.7 I'll usually trash on them
-
1 RispondiI don't think they are really respected, nor should they have to be. At the least some of their opinions on pvp should have a bit more weight since they know what it takes to do well in crucible
-
K/D is a pretty decent indicator of skill, but it completely depends on how well they work with the team. Being a lone wolf isn't always bad. When I play with my friends, I usually hold down a spot near a control zone so they can capture it, but I don't get credit on the capture myself. My objective score suffers, but I was still being helpful to the team.

Absolutely

8 RisposteModificato da MadRussian0: 7/20/2015 9:07:47 PMI look at the persons DTR score for each game mode (Skirmish, control, ToO, etc) on DenstinyTracker.com over their kd. cuz in the end, they might have an awesome kd in control, but a horrible one in skirmish and visa versa!
-
2 RisposteOnly time a bad K/D really bothers me is when they die a lot. If you have a 0.5 K/D but only die 6 times (and have 3 kills but capture a few zones) then you are having a neutral to perhaps positive effect on the game by controlling zones and spawn points by staying in the back. If you have a 0.6 K/D with 18 kills...that means you died 30 times. That means you gave the other team a ton of Supers and extra points to enjoy against the rest of your team. I have a problem with that type of player with a lower K/D, especially in Control when you have A and B and then he goes and tries to capture C and all of a sudden you have enemies spawning behind you. I don't have a great K/D so nothing to brag about here but I learned the hard way that not dying is more important than kills in a team setting.
-
Higher KD means the player is generally better. So more respect is given. At least from me

Modificato da Ghost J34: 7/20/2015 9:19:03 PMKDR is the only way that you can measure people that you don't know or haven't seen play. If someone has a low KDR, it's a sign that they probably don't know what they're doing in PvP and therefore their opinions regarding PvP have less credibility. Is this always the case? No. Is it usually the case? Yes. That doesn't mean their opinion shouldn't be respected. You can still respect the individual while pointing out what they say is wrong/stupid/etc.

K/d I go back forth on, but one stat the is crucial to me is dtr on destiny tracker that considers all stats and put it into an equation and spits out a number for ever playlist
mine is 47/50
-
Not a whole lot. My K/D is alright, but if I go into Trials or Skirmish, I get shut down. I'm just not good at those game types.
-
1 RispondiIt's a video game, who cares?

I play balanced and usually with a team of friends. 2 flag caps, 2 neutral (staying near capped flags and protecting/ helping cap, 2 damage dealers. Damage dealers dont even worry about flags they roam the map and kill. I play neutral protecting flags and capping. It works most of the time (key word most) and holds me at 1.0
