So I've only just started running sword on normal Crota and am wondering why 85% of the time that I swing at Crota there is a huge pause between swings?? Meaning i can only get 2 hits on him, and yet for roughly 15% of the time the sword will swing quickly with very little gap between swings and I'm able to get 4 strikes in on him?
Is there something I can do to not get the huge pause between swings?
I am running a Warlock and Titan and have them set on their top agility to make them quicker....but to me it seems to be random?
Maybe some of you experienced sword users know how to get around this?
Cheers :-)

Its cause ur running as titan and warlock hunters can go invis right next to him and the trigger wont pause like you say on the other hand warlocks and titan need to go in running which causes a slight delay

3 RisposteIt's just controller lag......happens to me sometimes too.....keeps me from getting 4 hits if I want it. If you see it happening don't go for more than 3.

3 RisposteWhen u roght teigger move frwd it cuts down on the animation.
-
3 RisposteYou need to push forward on the left thumbstick, as if you were walking towards crota while you're swinging the sword, makes the hits come a lot faster.
-
2 RisposteIf you are running a blade dancer use the QuickDraw perk thingy and you hit i little faster.

1 RispondiBeing the sword bearer for our raid group I can say that practice does make perfect. I suggest running around old russia and basically practicing your technique. You'll notice that if you time it right just after the slam you begin to rise. Push forward and r2 and you'll slam again. The more you practice the better you'll become till it becomes second nature and you should get 3 to 4 slams each knee if you and your team have good coordination.

6 RisposteMaybe you engage crota too late? I usually get 4-5 hits in but thats because im charging straight at him as the rockets hit him. I would say use a helm with increased melee speed and reduce the time between grabbing the sword/hitting crota

3 RisposteJump swings kill animation cool down. Also, being in the air while the sword disappears gives you up to 2 slashes and a slam/super. Its all timing bro. Fist Of Crota for Sword eater practice. Timing is almost exactly the same. U get just enough time to kill boss with sword b4 it vanishes.

4 RisposteYou just have to act like your walking into Crota meaning moving your left stick forward while smashing and you'll get your 4 hits in...you can go to fist of Crota mission and try it out if you stand in one place the hits are slow but if you move forward while smashing it'll skip like half the animation

1 RispondiAre you wearing any armor to increase melee attack speed? It helps.
-
1 RispondiIn addition to the other tips, any armor with increased melee attack speed will help cut some of the delay (note: multiple armor pieces with this perk don't stack)
-
1 RispondiTilt your left stick into Crota Don't follow the animation, just mash your R2 until you get your 3-4 hits (depending on when you get up there vs. when he kneels)
-
5 RisposteHold up on left stick while attacking.

5 RisposteModificato da DanEvil: 3/26/2015 8:48:56 AMThe way I do it is mainly with my hunter, but you use warlock, titan. So, as soon as you see the rockets about to hit crota, jump up, hammer R2 of you're on ps4. Hit him 3 times turn around and jump back to the rock. Then repeat it for a second time. They get away. If you time it right you should easily get 3 hits each time. You can go for 4 hits but 3 is the safest way when you're starting out. Edit: if you're on ps4, add me and I'll jump in with you to help you get some practice in if you like? Just add me and send a message to let me know :) GT: Dan-666-Evil
