Close Phogoth Door (Closet)
Make it so that all players have to be in the small room so that the front door opens. When the front door opens the back door should close.
Make less adds spawn if you have to, but Phogoth should not be cheesed every damn time.

Entitlement generation feel they are entitled to the free kill. I remember back when people enjoyed a challenge.
1 person can do it 100% from the doorway with 0 chance of taking any damage. How can anyone be this lazy that they are ok with a [b]boss[/b]being a free kill?
Also I'm not saying more cover shouldn't be added to the main room... People should just have to go in the main room. It should be [b]fun.[/b]
Glad lots of players also realize this is dumb.

I mean seriously, between lightswitch and arc burn it would be damn near impossible to beat without either going to the rock in the corner to hide or staying in the room. Now if all three fireteam members have maxed out thunderlords and a titan has weapons of light, you can run up on phogoth as soon as it starts and get him down in less than 10 seconds.

Communication will always be an issue on a matchmaking strike. Just because a random jumps into the room and decides to go all Rambo, doesn't mean the other 2 want to...or were even expecting this until the first person has already bought the farm. A person who rushes ahead of the others in the strike team with no real attempt to coordinate as a team can't really expect the other two players to suddenly become a cohesive unit. 3 people communicating and working together can have fun in the main room. Though I would not pretend to assume that to be true to everybody in a matchmaking strike. I never look at Phogoth as the big battle in that strike. The room with the 3 witches is the tough one. Maybe that should be the final battle.

I will gladly not cheese phogoth... if it were doable. (This only refers to Nightfall. All else is doable without cheesing.) So I would support this, if adds didn't spawn behind you.

3 RisposteIf my party wants to run it legit I will without complaining. If they want to cheese, I'll do that too. The way I see it, if I don't try to force the other players to play the way I think is "right", they'll be doing what they're comfortable with, probably what they're used to, and we won't die. It's Just A Strike. When all is said and done, I just want to survive so I can do something much more "challenging" than Phogoth.

3 RisposteWho says you have to stay in the closet with us, you're free to go into the main room anytime you like, and guess what, we'll revive you when you die. That rock at the end/left of the main room provides some protection, but in a nightfall who wants to risk it. Also, some people don't have burn primaries, so, it just makes it even harder to have to worry about going into your inventory screen to pull an ammo pack while worrying you're gunna be nuked due to not having any cover. What next, nix the sniping ledge in the Archon Priest, or under the ramp in Taurus, or behind the rock wall in the Nexus... Cheers

There is no way to beat this Nightfall 'legit'. By legit, I mean how you would complete it in a regular ROC strike. Running around the room. You would get rekt. Same as the majority of Nightfalls. You can't play them like you normally would.

3 Risposteok I played the weekly twice earlier and all the adds were dead until the 2 idiots stayed in the room at beginning and spawned in all the knights and wizards, its the weekly no need to hide, it took us about 20-25 mins to finish the strike. 3rd time I played we all stuck together and finished the mission in at a max of 10min and none of us hid back in any room and revived each other every time I second closing the door however nightfall would suck still worth it imo

I actually agree. Close the damned door, and spawn less adds. It would be more fun not to cower in the room, but right now that method is better, so that's what people do. Datto has a good video about this, by the way.

The problem is that if somebody on normal strikes plays from that room it makes it tougher for the people or person outside cause it spawns A LOT of extra ads along with wizards that aren't normally there. If you are doing a nightfall it is about the safest spot till you have to go get phogoths attention cause you can't shoot him. The best bet is if you have somebody in regular strikes fighting from in there just join them or fight from the opposite corner from the door.

They're not strategically hard, they r bullet soak hard where u can't stick your head out for 2 seconds without getting killed. Not a fun time really. And that's why u can continue to cheese them, they woulda fixed them otherwise

But so much wizards.. And Knights.. And acolytes with rocket guns.. And 1 hit thrawls sprinting at you.. Everyone's just doing hardcore splash damage.. Then there's this giant f💩cker Phogoth shooting a crazy laser beam at you as well.. Drop ships deploying more splash damage if you're staying on the other side.. It's a giant mess.. And if I die.. I get sent to orbit? ..I'm staying in the closet. 🌈🍌

I've been playing these past weekly heroic strikes as a strike, since necrochasm is actually useful and it takes a lot of skill to maneuver around the hive majors and sniping boomers. I literally always go out into the main room with phogoth - and if I'm by myself, that means I have to run a full circle and I only get to kill 1-3 enemies per lap. And when people are in the room, their only objective is to shoot phogoth - which makes another problem for me to deal with. I just don't understand how somebody could be a 32, having done the HIVE raid numerous times and still be unable to go outside the shrieker room and survive. The fight mechanics are the same! Also, the majority of the weapons from the HIVE raid are ARC. The hive nightfall/weekly burns have been... Hmm... ARC!
