Wife hates that I play Destiny
First off let me start with I love this -blam!-ing game, I got the PS4 bundle for Xmas and Thx to Lizard Squad didn't get to play it till January.. I'm not going to lie I been hooked like hoe on crack, I just got to get my game time on! I have 3 characters hunter 31 soon to be 32, Titan 31 and Warlock 30 soon to be 31.. Completing bounties, weekly nightfall, weekly heroic, daily heroics and now VOG and Crotas raid, for all three characters, well shit yeah is time consuming... I admit at one point I was paying more attention to the game than her, so I get where she is coming from... From my own initiative and realizing I been wrong, I have been arranging date nights and I try to play after she goes to sleep, and not when we both get home from work (lol it feels like cheating, sneaking out to the living room to play Destiny) we still -blam!- allot, but she complains that's all I want from her...I have tried to explain to her that this is something I enjoy but in no way, shape or form, I would chose the game over her, Regardless of my attempts to compromise and show her that she is 1st, she wants me to stop playing forever!!!
-Leaving no room for compromise, what is more ridiculous from her ultimatum is that she doesn't mind if I spend time doing other things besides playing the game, like if I where to spend it watching football or out in the Gym and not spending time with her, that would be totally fine.. WTF????
In conclusion I think my wife is related to Crota, that could be the only reason for all the drama, her mom definite looks like a creature from the night.. The eternal struggle between light and dark is not only a war, it is a crusade!
I don't think I'll stop playing, that is a part of me, I am willing to compromise, and I love her, but if she can't see that, I'll have to move on and find someone that I could love and be passionate about and at the same time we could share my passion for the game- I need a girl that makes me a sandwich and gives me a BJ while I play dammit! ( that line needs to be turned into a song)

I like the fact that she'll let u do other things that don't involve her but not games. They have a bad stigma in the US as being a waste of time and bla bla bla. I bet she would be cool with u being on ur phone on Facebook all day

1 RispondiYour wife shouldn't dictate your actions. If she knows you enjoy playing destiny to this extent than she shall not bother you about it. Making you choose between herself and the game is childish. A married woman should know better ways to deal with something shes not pleased about.

Don't risk your love life because of destiny. Maybe take a weekend off playing and go on a two day vacation, or spend more time with her, you can't blame her for having different tastes than you, and maybe she is right and that from her point of view she sees that you are more dedicated to the game than to her, maybe sit down and talk to her, get everyone's thoughts out and find a way to fix the problem.

This is the same with any time consuming hobby. Maybe you put in place 3 game nights a week. You are reaching the end end game so time to get some balance back. I'm the same. I've always balanced everything until destiny came along. Time to walk away until house of wolves. Maybe.

I've had the game 2 months and I'm completely addicted. My wife thinks it's weird and that I'm out of my mind my mind but she knows...I'm mean really playing video games is harmless. In less it throws your life out of balance...even then there still fun.

Man sorry to hear bro, after a divorce being married for a year, then several girlfriends later I finally decided to not compromise...finally got one that likes to play games and loves destiny... The struggle is real man. Props to you for sticking around. Me being me now I would have left.

If it is just destiny, maybe she has a good reason, and you might try to find out. If it is gaming in general, and she can't accept that gaming is something that you enjoy doing, then maybe you are better off without her. If my fiancée tried to force me to choose between gaming and her, I'd choose gaming. Simply because, if she will do that with one hobby, will she do it with the next? If I replace gaming with movies, books, biking, hiking, whatever, will she force me to choose again? I'm willing to compromise for us both, but I'm not willing to sacrifice everything, if she won't compromise, herself. This is under the assumption that your play time is at a reasonable level, not 18 hours a day, or some shit.

3 RisposteThis may sounds kind of corny, but try reading "The 5 Love Languages" by Gary Chapman. It just sounds like you guys are communicating on different levels. I feel like she maybe isn't feeling "loved" from you because of the game. I would like to believe that she just wants you to spend some quality time with her, which is her "love languae", which you may think you are doing, but you might be "speaking" a different "love language". Honestly this is really hard to explain over the internet. From the very very basic things you have written, this is only my thoughts on it. Too confusing? Read the book if you are in a relationship, it explains things a lot more clearly, and i have seen it save a few relationships
