Skipping Strikes

Is anyone else out there getting tired of people just running passed every enemy they see until they can't any more? Tired of having 70-120 kills a strike with a rare reward while someone who got 20 kills gets legendary and exotics? Or what about the ones who run passed enemies in say Cerberus Vae III till they get to the restricted spawn zone, kill themselves to push you up, and then continue to do little to nothing after. When I do strikes with people I know, it's just as fast to kill everything in sight as it is to skip them. I complete The Will Of Crota in like 9 minutes with my friends. I see people leave that strike often. I'm sure it's because "it takes too long" because the strike doesn't allow you to advance till about 90% of the enemies are killed two times. I would like to see invisible walls of some sort placed in every strike to force fair game play. I would also like to see rewards given appropriately to kill/death, grenade kills, and precision kills. Bungie has put a lot of time and effort into making the game and too many people are pooping on their hard work by just skipping.

  • If you adjusted awards according to skill, then beginning players will get next to nothing. Not exactly fair for everyone. And its random i see people getting legendary all the time while i get shit, and when i finally get one im just as happy.

      Run it with friends that are o.k. with you farming. If you can't do that then I suggest speed running when you're with randoms. It's really all about the RNG and the marks in the end. Speed runs will give you more pulls on Bungie's slot machine.

      • I speed through with my friends. The content is stale. We are only chasing the carrot at the end. I just want to kill the boss and see my reward (or lack of) If I want to kill everything in sight and screw around we patrol

      • When you strike you are supposed to get in eliminate the target and get the hell out. Ask anyone from any special operations unit anywhere.

        • Why are you trying to enforce your inefficient playstyle on everyone else. That extra 2 minutes you spend killing trash mobs that drop nothing 99.99 percent of the time adds up to entire strikes that could have been completed if you would have just skipped them.

            I have every exotic in the game as well as many legendary weapons that I am dividing out between my maxed out characters. This will allow me to have the appropriate element types for each weapon type, all fully leveled. Having not just reached 32, I also obtained different stat rolls on the raid gear to augment my character's exotic build(I usually make sure that at least two relevant stats are fully maxed at 100%). When you are at this point in the game, glimmer and armor material is the most important thing. In the end, skipping all the enemies is a bad idea, as a very low chance of obtaining some exotic or legendary is not as beneficial as actually gearing yourself up with needed materials and glimmer. You can say, I don't need it now, trust me, you will eventually. I feel like the extra 2 to 3 minutes to kill all the enemies far outweighs the benefits of skipping everything. Not having to switch weapons at any time is much faster and easier to switch between characters for appropriate moments. Just thoughts from an advanced player.

            Here is a little math equation to explain this in the simplest terms Lack of content + same repetitive strikes x ( my total hours played + my being bored to f#ckin tears with strike playlist ) = I'm racing forward when and if it suits me. P.S. That said I don't purposefully die to pull peeps forward nor do I go AFK if it can be avoided.

          • Nope. Hell no. I run past the weenie mobs. I'm just here for the Marks and guaranteed Engrams, thank you. It's cool that you like killing everything. But don't enforce your playstyle on others. "But you're trying to force your playstyle on me…" Nope. I'm leaving you the option to kill everything or skip it. You're trying to take my option to skip the adds where possible. Now on the other hand, if I feel a guardian is getting swamped I'll go back and help. But you get two revives per section. Then I'm moving on.

            • I'm there for the marks. The faster I get all my marks, the better off I am. I've never purposely killed myself to force people to catch up. If you kill yourself, your ghost should just sit there while the other players catch up. If I don't skip, I find myself getting the majority of the kills anyways and doing most of the work. So I'm not bothering with that. I'm not there to kill things. I'm there for the marks. :/ Invisible walls shouldn't be applied. I used to kill everything, but I've found out that skipping is much quicker especially playing with random teammates. What I hate about strikes is that one person that sits back and does absolutely nothing. I was told you get kicked when your teammates move up to let's say...the boss. NOPE. There are people literally staying at spawn and jumping around waiting for their teammates to complete the strike. That's the only issue I have in strikes tbh.

Well I want people to only use Gjallarhorn, and if you don't have Gjallarhorn equiped you can't join the ROC Strike playlist. I'm tired of bosses taking too long because my other two teammates doesn't have a Gjallarhorn! See how stupid you look with that post?

              • No just no an extra few minutes a game for say 20 strikes is another 20 strikes done my friend. Increase chance of exotic

              • People can play the game how they want. There's probably some strike skipper out there wanting you to be forced to keep pace with him.

                • If the rewards didn't come from this god-awful RNG making individual efforts not matter, it's better to just run through the strikes and get more done. It's like getting paid per task completed vs getting paid hourly.

                • I see no point in killing the little fish in a strike when the big fish of the strike are how it ends and gives me end strike rewards. People want to do it as fast as they can.

                  • People quit the Omnigul strike because they're lazy. They used to quit the Valus strike the same way. Any boss that takes more than 5 minutes to kill freaks the lazies out. I LOVE the Omnigul strike because of the constant supers you can generate in the beginning of the strike.

                    • Actually destiny is a "free world" and running through strikes sometimes to get the xp is for players who have goals with little time to complete. If you feel like shooting everything go ahead but don't force your play style on the whole destiny world. I would love to run into you during crucible and t-bag you for your worthless opinion.

                      • One fix is if one players runs ahead and dies it transport the dead to the majorities position that way they get pulled back this would mean that the majority consensus on how go run that strike wins If two are speen running you're all speed running If two are killing n moving through it methodically you're all doing it. That or your gonna have to sit n wait or hopefully leave

It's the same strike that we have all played 50+ times. The faster I can do it the better.
