Which is a display of true skill and earning raid gear which is dropped based on rng or IB gear which is purchased after achieving a rank that is gained after completing bounties and winning some matches and the gear is purchased for ~10K glimmer each and done in at least 2 IB events (2 months time).
Tried to be opinion free in my post
Comment below
Wow lots of comments keep them going right now it seems there are two sides
1 that both are the same skill but IB looks better
2 that both lack any skill to get and group 2 carries people through both and seem kinda snobby IMO
Some good posts will be put into spoilers below

Ok, so there is many things that can be said about this.
Here are my 2 cents.
Both PvE or PvP you'll always find "scrubs" and/or lazy players. On both modes people take certain advantages to obtain what they want.
With that being said, I'm a total PvE player and rarely been onto PvP. But I must say and admit that beating other human beings through a video game is more rewarding and takes more skill rather than beating and AI that will always be predicted no matter how much Devs try to make it as changeable as it can get.
In my honest and humble opinion, I think PvP rewards specifically in Iron Banner requires more skill than a PvE event. You can't compare computers vs humans. Playing against other humans will always take more skill.

It doesn't matter as long as you're playing the game and having fun. I have a full set of raid armor on all three of my characters, so I decided to try my hand at IB for a change last week. Made it to rank 5 and bought both pieces of armor, the Mark, and the Gold Spiral shader for my Titan, so now he has both types of gear. I'd probably switch back to raid boots during the raid though just for the extra rockets. Otherwise I like how the IB armor looks more than CE armor. Looking forward to trying for the gauntlets and (if it's ever released) the helm next time around.

They're both different. Apples and oranges, my man. But it's pretty safe to say that those that have both the Raid and IB armor are the most well rounded players in general.[

i want to put the next one here because its important we see both sides so we can be better informed when forming our own opinions (and cuz many people on the app need to learn arguments have two sides)

neither? you don't need to be good to get IB gear - can literally AFC every match and get the same rep as the guy that goes 20 -5. And the raid gear - I can solo normal. Thats not a raid! I have more trouble with nightfalls!

Neither both for casuals anyways, one's a grind the other is hoping for a good drop.
-
It's a video game. There is no skill. Clicking buttons is not a skill.
-
-
Neither take much skill. It's all grind based.
-
Gear mean nothing skill wise. Ib gear, exotics, and raid gear are mixed up to look unique and pretty, i say this assuming most people have full raid gear and some or all the ib armor.
-
2 RisposteNo gear shows skill. Skill shows skill, gear shows time spent. Time spent does not equal skill. The only way to gauge someone's skill is by playing with/against them, that's it. For instance, we all know anyone capping A on Blind Watch has next to no skill, regardless of their gear.
-
5 RisposteAnd people in Crucible are more predictable than Ai
-
Neither take too much skill honestly. I am almost rank 4 for banner and have 3 32s. Time invested wise I definitely have more time on the raids learning the mechanics, but IB sure was a blast. first time I have EVER hit the crucible Mark cap, any other week I might get 10.
-
There's no real way to say which items require more "skill" to obtain, because you could valid arguments for both of them. In order to get IB gear, you'd have to grind crucible and put up with try whores or shit teammates. On the flip side, raiding requires consistent amount of teamwork and even then, you're not guaranteed gear thanks to RNG.

Modificato da PUPPETlubeAGAIN: 3/23/2015 5:36:10 PMIt's a -blam!-ing video game, no skill is ever needed to gain anything in a Damn game, just time.
-
As most other have said, neither. It just shows who has lots of spare time on their hands to grind it out. Yay.
-
The correct answer
neither
Before TDB lvl 30 and raid gear meant a lot more. Now both IB and Crota gear are so easy to get is meaningless. Its actually more impressive if you don't get the boots/chest/gloves (+exotic helm) in a couple of weeks of consecutive raiding.
-
5 RisposteRaid, iron banner you can AFK all day and earn rep if you wanted to that way, you can't really do that in a raid cause you would get the boot
-
Can't really compare them. They are both easy to get and unfortunately you can cheese both. Get carried in IB although some people are skilled enough not to have to be carried. Or you can simply cheese your way through the raid. That being said, unfortunately everything is to easy to obtain. Great game though, no complaints. If I had to pick I would say the head piece from CE is the hardest to obtain but not teally anymore
-
Iron Banner I would say because you can cheese gear in a raid. IB is a grind
-
Looks dont even matter to me considering I barely even raid with other people. I solo literally everything. No need for teammates to hold me back. That being said, raid gear is somewhat impressive, but what I look for is knowledge of the raids and strikes. I also like when people play the role their character was meant to play.
-
A mixture of both

3 RisposteModificato da XOShairece: 3/23/2015 6:44:23 PMHow about this: Crota Raid gear? I say no, IB wins. IB takes patience and commitment. And yes, while you could cheese your way through IB, it would still take days of non-stop grinding to rank up high enough to buy half of the set. You still have to wait another month to get the other half of the set, and most people get their Raid gear in less time if they run both Normal and Hard (I got mine for my Hunter in two weeks). BUT ATHEON Raid gear... I think we can all agree what a horrible grind that Hard Raid is. You need a full team, which means you can't be carrying anyone at half strength, and everyone has to have their shit together. Crota always puts out for me, but Atheon? That ass is still "waiting until marriage". I've played through Atheon multiple times and only ever gotten two pieces of gear for ONE of my characters, and only one exotic drop (Hardlight), and it was from Gorgon, not even from the big man himself. So rewind back a few months, and I say Atheon Raid gear is at least on par with the IB grind. In terms of garnering my respect, I mean. Clearing IB and Atheon both take tremendous reserves of patience, or at least a few beers.
-
Back in the days of Vault of Glass you almost never got the armor you needed getting to lvl 30 felt amazing cause grinding each week was the only way I got all my Crota gear within the first month of playing the raid, it felt as if I got everything I needed when I needed it This was my very first Iron Banner and I liked the struggle to get through the ranks, it defiantly felt more rewarding to me to finally get to rank 5, even if I don't need the gear
-
-
I don't think that either is a bigger sign of skill. Raid gear is more indicative of either having more free time or more readily available friends to do raids. IB gear is more indicative of being short on time or friends, so you can just leisurely play IB when you have free time to acquire the gear you need.
-
Vog gear was harder to get crotas gear is candy and ib gear you can get for afking and hoping your team wins and you can grind to rank 5 in a few hours if you play sun and mon.
-
2 Rispostehard question for the raid i got full raid set on my lock my 1st 3 times through (in one day, when i had 3 loks.) i now have 2 hunters and i couldnt get the chest piece for the longest. IB just takes commitment. i want a full IB set to be traditional every IB rock the "Birth of history ", "million million/gold spiral ", full armor set, "felwinters lie", the hammer lmg (cant think of name), and the puls rifles (keeping fingets crossed it comes next IB.
-
On iron banner if you have a team.. the gear is easy to get. I'm not that great at crucible at all. I'm usually top of the team if I'm with a group though. And If I'm not I'm usually 2nd or 3rd on the team. So having a team is all you need for IB. And the raid gear is just time consuming. Neither take skill.

1 RispondiI take my hat off to anyone who gets the ib gear . Laggy , full of campers and useless players
