Slayer: Flaggers give you serious flak, "How dare he score kills while I'm stuck capping a point!". But we all know you're just as necessary as the Flagger (given you're good at your job).
Flagger: "The Real MVP" Sure the Slayer can get as many kills as he wants... But he WILL die eventually, if you don't make his points worth it he can quickly throw the game (which angers the piss outta ye.).
Trapper: You know who you are, whether it's a well-placed tripmine in a flanking position, FoH on a cap point, or Novabomb on their Heavy, the best way to ensure victory is to ensure your mates don't get any "surprises".
Harrasser: Nothing like being the steady push, you may not get all the kills but not for lack of trying. Hit-and-run, Sniping, anything to put pressure on them without ever really being in danger until that "clever girl" comes 'round. Sure you're not the greatest contributor, but that doesn't mean the enemy's gaining any points from you.
Defender: "We have our flags aye, but we all know what happens if they don't stay up.". Call 'em campers, sissies, etc. You know there's someone on your team doing the same thing down the stairs at B over in Blind Watch. Main difference from the Harrasser is the tendency to stick closer to points instead of staying right behind the Slayers.
Jester: You know that ass-hat that took your teams' heavy ammo, then darted off like that giddy little school girl who stole your sweetroll back in third grade? or the lad who darts-in, has your entire team chase him for a good 7-10 seconds all while the enemy team caps points/take potshots? Hi. (K/Ds may vary, extremely reliant on a competent team/communication to capitalize on the enemy's distraction.)
Oh... Wow didn't expect that many votes in the first five minuets...
"The Last Word": I knew many of these traits would apply to certain players, hence the "preference" part of the poll (I myself for example am a very competent Slayer, Trapper, and Jester (Jester-Trapper combo works quite well.). What do you have the most fun/satisfaction of doing (Jester)?
"Well, almost": We hit 5K votes, thank you for the information, of course this is not a definitive poll.

I thought this had something to do with my fingers and women

1 RispondiI'm usually that corpse that the other team has to step over in order to reach the control point. I delay them by 0.03 seconds, if my team can't make good use of that time then I don't know what else I'm supposed to do for them.

Modificato da CorruptedEwok: 5/31/2015 9:27:33 PMSomewhere between trapper, defender and jester. Flagger description needs a little amending. *For no resson other than he can, continually takes 3rd flag, flipping spawns in what can only be described as a callous bid to plunge the entire match into chaos and gimp a 3000 point lead.*

Modificato da Young_King_Kush: 5/31/2015 8:57:45 PMFlagger/Harrasser Trapper as well, but only if I'm running Voidwalker

1 RispondiDefinitely a trapper. When the heavy ammo timer starts I run to the enemy heavy ammunition point and nova bomb it. Then do a victory dance on their ashes

Modificato da Novastone: 5/31/2015 8:10:18 PMFlagger & Slayer, great post by the way.

I guess I am a defender-slayer. I almost never cap points, what I do is predict where the enemy is going to be and try and kill as many as possible. Usually this means I am running back and forth between two of my team's capture points or back and forth between advantageous choke points. Occasionally if my team is losing all the flags I will start clearing out enemy flag points then run off again once my team starts to cap it. If no one is harassing the enemy then you are going to get crashed by a super real quick trying to take the flags.

Definitely a Jester-Slayer, not uncommon for me to go entire matches with 0 captures, maybe 1-2 if I felt the need to help out, but still sitting comfy on top of the team with 20+ kills. Love stealing enemy heavy or just popping an arc blade right before it spawns and killing the crowd around it. And especially love blinking around and landing on your head with a shotgun. :)

I only do PVP now for IB or exotic bounties. By default, I'm a slayer because I literally only go to get kills and I do control because I want to get kills, finish the bounty, and get back to the PVE bits I enjoy.

Everybody is camping now /:
-
good post. I defend as much as possible.
-
I'll defend the objectives while slaying in between them, use heavy as bait getting multikills, just overall doing what I can to keep my team positive.
-
I think I am a slayer/flagger. I have a lot of games where I am in 1st or 2nd in kills and have the most captures too
-
1 RispondiCapture the bases, I'll murder the other team.
-
Great post. Well thought out.
-
Combined trapper and harasser.

I'm sort of a blend of several of those. Mostly I try to play a support role and be the anchor for the team. I don't do well leading the assault so I usually lay down fire for my teammates and rack up boatloads of assists. Save my supers and my heavy ammo for maximum impact. No greater feeling than saving one if your zones by dropping a nova bomb on 5 opponents. I tend to find one or two guys that I roll with during the match, and I'll end up with the most assists and usually second most kills, behind the guy that I end up running with. When I'm not helping to take zones I like to hold an area and clean up any enemies that spawn where they don't belong
-
Slayer I almost always have the most kills on the team.
-
I try and snipe between 2 points like a long distance Defender e.g. on Venus Mons running along the cliff i can defend points B and C
-
2 RisposteSlayer. One game. I got a whoping 9450 score with 46 kills.

There's no option for it but Over-watch - A teammate in the over-watch role can be the key to easy victories. They usually don't reap points like a slayer but they provide clutch moves right when you need it. Whether it be intercepting a Titan before he can smash your flag party or realizing when an enemy flag is unprotected and ripe for a stealth stealing.. The over-watch's job is to pay attention to the entire field of battle(not just the current point). This ranges from keeping track of which enemies have used their supers (kill tracker) down to where each enemy is (number present on radar vs. those not visible). The Over-watch also needs to keep track of where his teammates are and what they are focusing on. Above all else, Over-watch is designed to keep teammates alive and and in CONTROL. The bottom line: Over-watch pays attention to what others don't see and pick up on high-value threats, eliminating them before they can do his team damage. If you have a good Over-watch, you'll know it. Those are the games where you have a stupid smile stuck on your face when the match ends because it seemed too easy.

2 Rispostethe amount of slayers in this post compared to in real life is probably less.
-
More of a mix between flagger and defender. Depending on the map and the team I might do one more than another.
-
Main slayer bruh
-
I'm in between like 3 of them
