If you buy it, understand it for what it is. It is an auto rifle. It won't do ass-tons of damage. It won't destroy your foes. The recoil is bad if you don't know how to control it or you just fire all 40 rounds in one trigger pull.
Give it time and allow it to flourish.
If you call it bad, then you need to put it in your vault and move on, and evaluate your playstyle.
EDIT: I feel that the vast majority of you are missing the point. Level it up and learn how to properly use it.
EDIT II: This guy shows what the gun can do in PvP. Take some time and watch it. He makes some valid points, both good and bad.

EDIT III: Let's keep this thread going through the weekend. I want to hear back from some people that gave it the care it needs. Reply here or send me messages on Xbox One. GT is the same as above.

I got mine from a legendary engram and I just use it for fun on patrols, aside that it's not to handy.
-
2 RisposteIf u can use a shingen then u can definitely wreck with it, too bad some ppl can't use a gun without it aiming for u XD
-
2 RisposteLast exotic I needed other than Nechro
-
i see the discussion topic is tha lazer canon ive had for awhile it truly is a beauty, too bad no one knows how to use it properly ive turned mine into a long range pulse rifle, max stability means lazer power = max
-
I've had my hard light for a long time I might finally start to lvl it and use it
-
2 RisposteMan I had no problem using Hard Light. I actually love it. Pretty good impact for an auto rifle. Recoil doesn't even bother me because you learn how to control it. Same thing with Hawkmoon. I have a blast with this gun and am kinda sad that Xur is selling it because now everybody will have one.
-
I used it for a bit this morning and it seems rather decent. I mean, it's an auto rifle in a Bungie game so it's never gonna be great :P Haha
-
Hardlight was my first Exotic of any kind - even before I knew of the existence of The Agent of The Nine. I used it forever, loved it and, finally put it in semi-retirement. I will never, ever dismantle it.
-
I like mine, I think it should have more impact, especially up close.

3 RisposteModificato da JayceeRrrr: 3/20/2015 2:16:57 PMI'm glad he finally sold it. Now people who didn't have it can finally see what we've been saying all along. It's trash. Find someone with 1000+ kills with 50+% accuracy. For those who get offended, blame Bungie. They could've made it better. The nerf didn't help either.
I've had this disappointment of a weapon since week 7. It's a novelty item...or was.
-
5 RisposteI'm having it, and I'm going to max it out before passing judgement. In any case, it isn't being sharded. Vaulted, at worst. It sounds like a few people don't like/approve the process of bounty leveling. Is this the case, or have I misread it? Personally, I don't see why this shouldn't be okay. I regularly move my kit around to level the most weapons as possible when I convert the bounties. But then I do tend to keep my weapons and practice long-term with them.

6 Rispostegame is uninstalled so im not buying it, get mad scrubs.
-
4 Rispostei fully upgraded HL and it stays in my vault. not worth the buy IMO unless you are a collector
-
unfortunatly research tells me this is a POS so, probly won't buy it. http://www.vg247.com/2015/03/20/should-i-buy-hard-light-destiny/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nTrjkiG2tk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pf7mCfCxYQU
-
I actually love the hard light but I don't use it much because I have a Gally horn and I want to level up my other guns
-
I took a look at the stats and it looks like it fits my kind of AR. Definetly going to level this up.
-
You just explained why it's bad
-
I think it's a great gun to use I have used it in pvp if you can control the recoil to hit Crota you can take some one down fairly quick
-

I can't help it that the weapon just sucks. Why would I or any AR user use this over Suros? Which isn't the greatest weapon in the world but I know it's better than Hard Light.
-
Hardlight is decent.. But not really that great in the majority of situations.
-
2 RisposteI still REALLY think it should do ARC damage, the whole concept of the weapon is light, and the rounds look like they are made of light & IT'S AN EXOTIC! No ARC damage? SMH...
-
Well said, many weapons are put down, because the skill to use it properly is Mott easily attained.
-
3 RisposteHard light is like a chainsaw

-
I'm only buying it as a vanity piece. Auto rifles are not my weapon of choice.
-
It seems a little poor from what I have seen on a few you tube videos... Best of luck to those who try it.thinck I will pass on this one.
