Shotguns take more skill than you think

It's not easy to blink shotgun and go on killstreaks when you're constantly surrounded by the enemy. Also when you get one shotted from max distance the person is ads and pointing it at your head. It's a fair reward.
Most of the people who bitch about it would not do that well. The felwinter is a beast but it's rate of fire is very low so getting multi kills isn't easy. In Iron Banner I'd say it's not even the best shotgun. Other shotguns with the same hammer forged shot package combo can be more effective.

Let me see you use the agility of blink to quickly take out big groups of enemies coming from all angles at once. It takes skill. Not every shotgun guy just blindly runs round corners hip firing hoping for the best. You're just salty
Edit : I made a voidwalker. This is just as 'OP' as blade dancer but no one seems to complain? Watch the video as I collect many tears from all the other classes trying to super me.

17 RisposteShotguns don't need skill. They're just a way to prevent losing a melee fight. They are working, that's why every casual uses them. It's the same as using a Super or i.e. the Suros before the patch = An easy to use weapon to have a slight chance of getting cheap kills without a real gunfight. Problem is, there is way too much special ammo. Sliding and Blinking makes this flaw even worse.

Guys, OP is obviously joking. My two year old niece can use shotguns on this game and it's laughable "competitive" multiplayer.

4 RisposteI love using shotguns in every game that has them, they're a lot of fun. They don't take skill though regardless of how you try to spin it, all it takes is good map knowledge and putting yourself in a position were they're effective. That's why Blink is so frowned upon, because it puts you in the good position without having to close gaps while vulnerable. Thus negating the downside of a shotgun, which is effective range. This games PvP is a massively unbalanced pile of crap though, so why people think it should even be fair is beyond me. I thought the whole point is to have stupidly overpowered stuff?

Shotguns aren't the problem here. Small maps are the problem. Bungie needs to make bigger maps so stuff like this isn't much of an issue like it is now. They also need to control the amount of special ammo carried.
