Has anyone at Bungie ever fired a Pistol?
Anything farther than 50 yards your not going to be able to hit a moving target 3 or 4 shots in a row, your not going to be able to out gun a scout rifle or sniper rifle from all the way across the map with your Hawkmoon.
Hand Cannons have gotten dumb, fix the range......
So worried about auto rifles and shot guns, meanwhile this junk is silly.

oh yes, it's sci-fi fantasy. Therefor several people seem to think that it is a good idea that range is absolutely irrelevant, and weapons designed to shoot across the map like scout and sniper rifles, should just be tossed in the trash as we all adopt the Hawkmoon or Thorn for essentially every battle tactic? Because no one at Bungie has ever caught on fire and done a Scorch Melee, lets just abandon any premis of weapon believability.

Haha you are terrible with a pistol then. And for the record destiny uses magnums... Alot of differences between a Bareta m9 and a S&W 500 magnum

The handcannon is more like a precision revolver than it is a pistol. Therefore it CAN hit those farther away targets.

I think you need to learn more about hand guns and/or learn how to shoot. Yes a lot have a "effective range" that is short but as you "gain experience" with any weapon you learn it's quarks and can utilize it a lot better

because in real life you can blink strike or fist of havoc too..... the game isn't meant to be realistic. the story is set in the future so who knows maybe pistols can have that much range

2 RisposteWell since we are technically trained shooters, we would be more skilled and able to hit further distance targets. I've seen multiple people who are in the army go hunting with pistols because they are more used to using them, as well as being highly accurate at far distances.

6 RisposteHas BUNGIE ever fired a pistol that has magic bullets? Ridiculous, make it more like real life magic bullets. Has Bungie ever fired a bullet that does poison damage? Why can't they make thorn more like real life poison bullets. Has Bungie ever fired a gun in real life where killing someone with the gun actually makes the next bullets fire faster at the next target? Make it like it is in real life.

An example would be the .500 S&W Magnum which the best shooters are accurate to a maximum of 45 meters but most shooters (a.k.a. people brought back from the dead and suddenly start firing) have a range of around 15 meters. Hand Cannon's have too much range. Shotgun's range is messed up too, shotguns that use shot (like the ones in Destiny use) have an effective range of 6-18 meters. Destiny damn near quadruples that.
