Totally Xurned It!
I started with 12 strange coins today at 1:46pm (EST). I checked what Xur had and saw Red Death for 23 Strange Coins... So I started ROCin it and just barely got them all in time. At 3:34am (EST) I was able to get Red Death... Yes I ROCed it for almost 14 hours to get the coins to add an exotic I don't have in my collection... So freakin Destinyed out right now, but very pleased with my new acquisition. Yes, I bought it from Xur but I freakin earned that d@mn exotic too. Now I'm gonna pass out cause my eyes are killing me..
Edit: my lazy @$$ just woke up a little while ago and my Android had a bunch of likes and replies... Tried to reply to all of them just now... Thanks for all the great feedback... Only a few negy bettys out there. Feels good to have an arena where people can understand what it means to truly grind for something, especially in a video game...
Edit # 2... With all the great responses it made me realize what really matters, what I truly gained from ROCin such a grind... Not Red Death, but all the great players out there who I was able to ROC with. We had some great strikes and even though we were all mostly veteran guardians, we also had some frustrating ones. Some Guardians stuck with me for many strikes b4 they signed off and wished me luck and I made several new gaming friends. I think the Destiny Community is one of the best I've ever been a part of. Thank you to the guardians that ROCed it with me, even the ones that had to bail for whatever reason, and thank you for all the positive posts. :)

1 Rispondi14 hours? Why didnt u jus made another titan lvl up till 20 then you should of transfer your titan gear to the new one and do the weekly heroic for 9 strange coins and the weekly nightfall? Maybe you could of gotten 12 strange coins lol

12 RisposteYou deserve your Red Death more than anyone else who bought it. I am personally against "Xurning" in most cases because of how easy it is to acquire strange coins. But then again, I am also against the existence of Xur because he makes the exotics that he sells not special. If he was never in the game, ALL the exotics would be special and you would be cool to have them.

5 RisposteSimilar story for me. I saw Red Death on friday and only had 7 SC. I hadn't done the weekly yet so I did that Friday evening and got to 16. I only needed 7 more.... and that's where I got hung up. I deleted a second titan that I had some progress on and created a Warlock a week or two ago. He's at level 2. I had to decide if I was going to lvl him up in one day or grind with my main. I chose option 2. At 12:00am I found myself soloing Rockets Mc!#!Face as the other two dropped at the start.. after hours of grinding ROC strikes. I only needed 1 more coin so I wasnt going to drop. Made it to the tank no prob but got hung up. After taking pot shots for 5 minutes two more joined and we finished the strike in no time flat. Was so happy to see other guardians I danced and waved at each of them before moving on after we downed that tank. I think they could tell. For that I was rewarded with... a shader. Grrrr. The next strike, Archon Priest, was going to be my last. After a day of grinding I was going to accept I had made the wrong choice and go to bed Red Deathless. On the rewards screen.... BOOM. A strange coin. The last one I needed. I ran to the tower, bought it and then played 1 match of control to test it out. I passed out from all the excitement and am just now waking up to start my Sunday. Tonight: we level up that warlock.

Congrats! I started with 18 and made it around midnight last night. We earned the coins, that's for sure. Been playing with Red Death all this morning. I love this weapon!

2 RisposteGood for you. I only have one guardian but started playing weekly heroic regularly now that it's matchmaking. Had four week of Xur selling crap so I was at 74 on Friday. Bought RD and am back up to 54 coins. Only want Lucky Raspberry and Mast of Third Man for armor so coins will mainly be for weapons afterwards.

In a game where chance is what makes you most capable and drives you to play, and even these people crying about "their" weapon do not realize this. When you advertise something like "Become Legend", you would think that there would be a significance to that. The community was nicer at one point because everyone had that wow effect on eachother, and that rarity and uniqueness to each person is something even the competitive or casual player can subconsciously respect and admire. Without rarity and singularity which is something bungie should do something about, because in no MMO history has such a thing like common ground and remarkable design and meaning in arsenal and armor been in share with one another. People are always going to be on these forums complaining in such an abundance. And this is no conspiracy, but when major names leave a company like this, the same major names that brought Halo into history, the amazingness goes with it. Do not let yourself believe this was the original idea for this game, to be like this. To be such a stupid thing like "oh you have my gun, im not special anymore" actually be the main topic at hand on its primary forums. Both sides are pathetic and annoying to read. [spoiler]The fact you felt a need to even mention uh... "negy betty's" in an edit for your desperation for attention and argument., proves how bad this community is. How do people not see this guy is just as much of a troll as the whiny little brats complaining about "their" special gun[/spoiler]
