Why are guys afraid to be paired up with female players?
I see a lot of discussion on random threads and I think it's sad.... What's the deal?
Edit: Seems the feedback goes both ways. Interesting to say the least.

I have several women in my clan and they are very good and they do talk with their teammates. The problem is that there is alot of misogyny, chauvinism, and harassment towards female players. That's the reason some players get mad when male players make female characters for the game. They think this is eDestiny. I look at this way. If anyone mistreats and disrespects women in a game, how would you feel if someone disrespects your sister, mother, or daughter? Being a father of two daughters, I would be royally pissed off and would have a serious talk with that guy if he disrespects my family.

I ran into one who needed help with story. She was level 8 and I was 28 so I generally destroyed everything for her so she was pretty grateful albeit being pretty quiet throughout the whole time.

Now on the topic of being afraid of female gamers I cannot say I am. 1st off if I have run into a female I honestly am not even aware of it. Some people don't talk during raids or events, some do and I just cannot tell (similar to hearing a voice on the phone but it sounds different). The times I have run into female gamers in the past I honestly don't think much besides "Ok cool she's kicking some behind."

7 RisposteI've not noticed it tbh. In fact the only times I've played with guys and they've called out my gender was just to clarify that I wasn't a squeaker. Seems squeakers get more hate than girl players.

I dont think "afraid" is the right word. Some guys I've played with seem a little... intimidated? when a random girl joins the raid group. But overall I see no reason why anyone would be afraid. I dont see how gender should matter at all to gaming.

What if the start talking about feelings? I don't have those... how am I supposed to relate!?! I kid. I think it's just that some people have preconceived opinions about girls that game. They also come here to act like immature goof balls. The internet provides ananimity so people behave in an exaggerated manner, they wouldn't dare do in public. Since girls are a minority and it's mostly adult men playing they get a lot of flak when they play. TL;DR the internet breeds douchbaggery

Because most guys are immature and insecure, I welcome any age or gender in my fireteam. And to all the guys saying because girls suck at games, you've probably been beaten by a girl in pvp but don't know it because she's afraid to speak in a mic because she'll be harassed.
