Be honest, don't troll this is a realistic concern and I want everyone's honest opinion. My friends never log on anymore it's really starting to concern me.
P.S. Everyone here has contributed in some way or another. Thanks to all who have voted and posted their opinion so far it really matters. Hopefully the gaming industry doesn't become what we all fear (into Activision) by selling a triple A title for 60 and chopping it up into pieces for 20 each later for profit. But sadly from what we've all seen its happening with Battlefield (I would of mentioned call of duty, but we all know who the publisher for that series is... They killed the cod series and that's what they are doing with Destiny.) with them baiting you to buy their premiums or map packs rather then giving it all for 60. And I am sure it will keep happening from now on with major games, the gaming industry has turned into what seems to be a corporate greedy world. It's just sad, and it's only going to get worse.

1 RispondiDying? Not really. There is still no shortage of people that never seem to tire of the same mundane grind to level up a weapon to run a raid to get a weapon so they can level it up to run a raid and get something else to level it up and ... yeah. I loved the alpha, I thought Destiny was going to not only live up to the hype, but exceed it. The core gameplay was solid, the concepts and the videos we'd been shown displayed a huge world with content upon content. Oh man was it going to be great. Then it came out and it was, essentially, little more than we'd seen in the alpha or beta. But bonus - now you also get the worst aspects of an MMO for you to slog through. Sure, Bungie has made a lot of good changes to the game (and a fair share of baffling and unwelcome changes) but it doesn't do anything for the lack of actual content. Strikes are boring. Story missions are boring (not to mention unskippable cutscenes). Raids are boring - though they are arguably the most entertaining PvE offering. The Dark Below came out, with the promise of real story, but it really just boils down to more grind. And all those nice weapons you had? Yeah, those are ruined, but here's some more farming for you so you can maybe someday replace them (with new versions .. that you'll have to level up). Again, I know a lot of people love this. As long as they have something to level up or farm they're happy. For me, it's just been a huge disappointment. I still love the fundamental gameplay and I hope, maybe 6 months down the line, maybe longer, that Destiny will finally get to where it should be, but I'm skeptical. Destiny 2, on the other hand, we'll see.

I do feel like it is. I am having a hard time lately to find raid teams. Lots of times there are only a handfull of players in the tower where it was full before and less friends play the game these days. It IS slowely dying.

2 RisposteI'll put it this way, once HoW comes out (since I already paid for it), I will play that. When comet comes out, the game is as good as dead. Screw a game that has more nerfs than a kindergarten classroom. Since crota, there have been multiple games that have been released. All by which, have a story and more content. WarFrame has better gameplay, and if you cough up $80 like I did with destiny, you can have some good weapons and a good guy to play within warframe. Literally has the same set-up as destiny... Except that it is FREE.... By the way that free game has more of a story than destiny.
-
If comet is great I'm staying, if it's not - bye bye Bungie
-
I used to play daily but now I've only played 4 times this month. I've had enough of getting weasel and having my Internet connection getting messed up. I have to restart my router just so I can get on xbox live again. Only game that does this shít

I was playing as much as possible to just Tuesdays and once at the weekend to see that xur isn't selling gally, it's not even fun anymore, it's a ball ache and a disappointment, especially when I get more shards and energy that we can't use anymore. What a great travesty this amazing game this has become. I just hope bungie don't mess the next dlc up if they want to maintain this great game and have it remembered as a great game and not the great flop. Come on bungie you can do it
-
Bungie is too cheap to program new dance moves except into a DLC exclusive piece of gear that isn't worth having. Yep, Destiny is -blam!-ed.
-
At least gta is giving expansions for free. Although it is almost a free to play game at this point. Either way, destiny is over half a year old at this point. The continued size of the player base sort of surprises me. There will be a huge revival at house of wolves and comet, and destiny two will be huge.
-
Definitely dying. I play it 2-3 days a week now, was playing it all 7 religiously until the beginning of this month. Not worth playing just for the gjallarhorn I still need. I do nightfalls and as many raids I can do on Tuesday morning and I sometimes visit xur on Friday. That's it.
-
Not really, once how comes out people will be back but a few wont.
-
Needs new content (raids, strikes) and not just maps in reverse. New exotics that actually are actually better legendaries--three new guns for HOW is not enough.
-
It's all the same rinse, repeat formula now sadly. It's been a fun game but that is steadily coming to an end with all these constant nerfs that ruin weapons every 3 weeks. Buggy raids that never get fixed(but they can patch a cheese no matter how small the next day). 6 months to fix the heavy ammo issues(which still gets lost if you RTO). Still no vault space even after players have begged MONTHS for it. If Bungie put more effort into caring about their player base maybe the game wouldn't be declining as much. Best way I can somewhat show destiny is dying is because Bungie would always post. How many hours players would log into the game, raids, etc. it used to be an average of 3 hours per player, per day...no such posts have been brought up in over 3 months

3 RisposteI think when I am done upgrading my Fatebringer. I will put Destiny on the shelf.

5 RisposteModificato da RedWolf4Life888: 3/30/2015 6:42:10 PMI echo the sentiments of what many others have said on this thread. It is absolutely dying for me as well. I have put many hours in, and the grind just isn't worth it. Bungie has made some big mistakes with Destiny, and I can almost guarantee I will not be taking part once the next expansion comes out (unless many of these points get addressed). My primary list of gripes: 1. Extremely repetitive gameplay (we have all done every single strike and bounty dozens of times - it gets old Bungie, really, it does!). 2. Weapon/Gear obsolescence - no one in their right mind wants to see the weapons/gear they worked for become useless. Fatebringer made it through the last upgrade, but it will not survive the next one (this is just one example that will hit home for many). Make them upgradeable Bungie; and don't make it excruciating to do so!!! 3. RNG - there will be 3 people for every 1 that says "too bad" or "stop whining", but honestly, this system is absolutely stupid and broken. I've put my hours into this game, and I have never had a Truth, Patience and Time, Suros, Monte Carlo, or Gjallarhorn drop for me. I also can't get a Black Hammer (after probably 30+ Crota raids). Meanwhile, I have a friend that has played less than half as much as me get every single exotic weapon. Somehow, I can get 3 Hawkmoons though! I love raiding with a new person that quickly says "I've never done this before", only to watch in horror as the VoG exotic chest yields a Gjallarhorn for them. This sucks Bungie - and it's driving me away. The premise of random in the context of gaming yields mixed results, but I don't think it works. From a business perspective, why would you risk losing ANY customers over such a system? This is something that can be overcome (I think Xur was the attempt, but it falls short). 4. RNG 5. Crucible. Where to begin. In the age where most of us have pretty good internet speeds - what is this technology that Bungie leverages for crucible matches? Once in awhile I have a match where everyone seems to have good connections, and it is pretty fun. It is fun to be able to shoot people and see damage registered. However, in 9 out of 10 matches this simply doesn't happen. Pay attention to the people that are in first place (on your own team too). They seem to have "red" connections, and they can kill kill you with ANY weapon with one or two critical hits! Meanwhile, they absorb 8 shots with Hawkmoon with no damage taken! WTF? This is funny business. Also, the maps generally suck. Oh, and RNG for crucible? Please, it isn't even worth talking about. 6. RNG. 7. Raid Bugs. Not even really worth elaborating on this. The only sad part is the random dimwits you have to match up with half the time that actually get super pissed at their teammates. Yes, there are some people that tend to make the same mistakes over and over - but the content is also flawed pretty significantly as well - it is hard to be consistent when the game is so buggy. "Look, watch out for that Knight! Oh, wait - he disappeared." 8. RNG. 9. Raid matchmaking, or lack thereof. This is probably such an oversight that it takes the cake. In their infinite wisdom, Bungie makes us use third party websites to try to find people to play THEIR game! Bungie, I get it - you guys employ some awesome developers, and you've had a place in the market for a long time. However - don't overlook the need to stay on top of the customer experience! I implore Mr. Harold Ryan to hire some talent in the strategic marketing area to develop some useful metrics around customer insights - it really can do wonders! This was my rant - I'm not a frequent poster, but I felt the need to get this off my chest. This game really did have a lot of promise, and for a few months, I really enjoyed playing it. I can't overlook the problems though, and far worse - I've become frustrated with the company behind the game. I'll play a bit longer, but I'm struggling. I'm to the point where I'm considering deleting one of my level 32 hunters for a Titan, in an attempt not to be bored. Bungie, listen to your customers - and by listen I mean do more than simply fix the stupid vault space. - that's like trying to put a bandaid on a severed extremity.

5 RisposteModificato da Matu Flp Krawfe: 3/12/2015 3:46:49 PMYes, The function of Destiny 1 was to establish a franchise which would continue on to Destiny 2. That might be assured based on initial sales of Destiny 1, but do consider that after Destiny 2 there must come a 3 and possibly a 4 depending on how Bungie decides to space out releases within their 10 year master plan. If the cultural trend of Destiny 1 is downward then while Destiny 2 might be assured 3's chances are reduced and 4 more so off of the same trend, and however you choose to look at the reception of Destiny you have plenty of evidence to suggest the negative depreciation in the place of this game in society BOTH at launch and in the subsequent management of the live game. This franchise will die at some point in the foreseeable future (ie. at some point within 10 years), and the state we're in now (ie. with a badly designed game and a dev no longer able to make meaningful changes within a reasonable timeframe, it really does seem like Bungie is no longer capable of functioning as a dev) is directly contributing to that eventual death. Ergo, dying. Future games might do something positive to mitigate that death (its within the realm of possibility but I wouldn't say its likely given bungie's growing incapacity), but under the weight of so much cultural inertia generated by a botched first title in a laughably marketed series its hard to see what Bungie could do to overcome what you might say now is historically inevitable. They rode out the last 10 years on the wave of mob appeal, and they'll probably spend the next 10 on the losing side of the same phenomenon.

1 RispondiHalf the problem is that we were fed the story that we would be able to go anywhere, do anything. Our guardian would be unique, every exotic would have a story. Yet everything after level 20 is how you gain additional light, and what weapons have the same OP perks. For every 1 thing Destiny gets right, it does 5 more things wrong and it's gotten to the point where most players realize we have paid $100 or more for nothing more than an over-glorified beta.
-
8 RisposteNo it's not. It's still in the most played category on Xbox one. How is that dying? Stop complaining guys this is a great game. If you think it's dying why are you investing your time on a dead games forums?
-
Let's just say I picked up advanced warfare today because I was so bored on the crucibullshit
-
I don't have the numbers from Bungie's severs to say for sure but, I know I only sign on for raids and maybe the nightfall/weeklies if I'm feeling frisky. I also know out of my friends list, there used to be 20 people signed into destiny at the same time I was playing. Now there is maybe 1 or 2. Comet better knock everyone's socks off (HoW will probably just be more same) or this series is going to be in real trouble.
-
Yes it seems to be. Bungie need to freshen the game up with some monthly content (for free), new bounties, a monthly heroic strike, maybe even a PvE event. At this stage almost anything would be appreciated.
-
I believe it's only dying to the players who have exhausted (or nearly exhausted) the content. I know (and know of) guys who were playing 50+ hours/week and ultimately burned themselves out. Most of them will be back when HoW is released (even though most say they won't). It's human nature to return to anything that you've invested that much time and energy into. Hopefully, HoW won't suck. I still like the game despite buying it back in September. I only have a few hours/week to play it, so there is still lots more left to do...
-
Yes it's dying bungie doesn't know what the -blam!- to do hmm maybe release the dLC

2 RisposteModificato da x Paladin xx: 3/30/2015 5:55:30 PMAgree this game is dying, I'm fed up of the grind, fed up of getting the same things in the nightfall, Can't equip more than one exotic, what's the point in having all these exotics and only be able to equip one at a time, we should be able to customise our character and equip them the way we want after all I paid for the game.enemies AI predictable and found myself thinking "can't be bothered to do the same bounty's and strikes and decrypt purples that turn to blues and endless braking of blue and green pointless engrams. HOW'S better be special or this game turns into a drinks coaster

Modificato da Corrupted_Data: 3/30/2015 11:24:21 PMI don't know if it's dying. The pvp'ers seem to still enjoy it still. I still like to play but pve is so repetive and boring at times. Games like Dragon age, Far Cry 4 and GTA make it hard to stay interested in this game. I kinda wish they would implement optional matchmaking. I have to hop on at random times due to the family so it's difficult for me to group up. Destinylfg always seems to be a disaster for me. That frustrates me because I just want to do what I need to do. Not run Vog first than Crota when I joined a crota group.

I've played since mid-October. I think the game is dying, I used to have around 20 or more friends playing at one time. Now I only have 1, and he only plays on the reset and on Saturday. I also have another friend that only logs on when my other friend and I do. If Bungie fumbles House of Wolves, I fear Destiny won't last another year, let alone until Comet comes out.
