Simply put my character isn't me. I do not feel like the male faces represent what I look like. With this in mind I created a character of each race and sex. I don't mind play games with a female protagonist, so I don't see how Destiny is any different. While you can point out that in games that require you to play as a specific character, i.e. Tomb raider, you are forced to play as that character as opposed to Destiny where sex is a choice, however who is to say that I am not forced into a character by the lack of character creation faces available. If I am not adequately represented than what's the difference.

To be honest I like the look of the female vs the male. The males are too damn bulky and monstrous, especially the Titan. Females just look better. I was a female in Reach as well.

4 RisposteBecause I have a daughter and she likes to run around playing with my Destiny characters from time to time. She is 8, and so I made a female Hunter and said "this one is you". Then when I made a Warlock, I made it female too. And said "this one is your sister". Her sister died before she was born, so she thought that was pretty neat. And why did I need to explain / justify that again?? I mean, I'm literally not a Hunter or a Warlock either... But you never asked why I made a Hunter or a Warlock. Oh, and I'm a Caucasian guy, but I made one of my characters with purple skin. Do you need an explanation for that too?

4 RisposteAs is likely the most common response here, being that they're much more pleasant to look at, especially on hunters where the 240 lbs linebacker look of the males seems a bit awkward on a class that's supposed to be agile and stealthy. Does this mean we have secret fantasies about digital females or desire to be females ourselves? I certainly doubt it for the majority of people and anyone who can't admit to the pleasant look of the occasional digital female character (as they're obviously modeled after what most of us would think of as being ideal for obvious reasons) is either lying or has insecurity issues, I should think. Not trying to attack the OP but this (frequent) topic and the attempt to completely over analyze it seems far more odd to me in itself than using a female character in a video game.

I made my warlock a girl because my fiancé wanted to decide how one of my characters looked.

In video games, they used to make it so female characters had smaller hit boxes, so I would select a female always, it would spare a bullet or two, and I got used to selecting females.
