Can the name Warlock be changed? (For two reasons)
1. I am a Christian and the word Warlock brings up connotations of witchcraft, spells, and frankly dark and Satanic power. Obviously in the game, the Warlocks are warrior scholars of the light fighting against the darkness. And I love how their powers are very scientific and Traveler focused with the use of Void (universe) and actual sun-shaped grenades. It is definitely a unique class, but one that just does not link up with the name, Warlock.
2. Warlock seems to restrict the class to males, since Warlocks can be seen as male witches. None of the other classes only sound like they appeal to one gender. So for greater inclusion of both genders to choose this class, the name change could be made.
I can see this very cool and unique class being called something like a Sage or Scholar, so that it doesn't have any harmful and sinful connections to dark arts, which really should not be taken lightly. Once again, I am a Christian and I am saying that beause that is my worldview and where this post is coming from.

8 RisposteAmusing. If you take issue with the name, you ought to be taking issue with the game. Not for the violence. But for the tidbits of story involved. Destiny is not a game of Christianity. Exos (machines) have life and light (soul to you, right?). Humanity appears to hold its continued existence and self-worth to the Traveler. Not God. An actual thing hovering over the last city of Earth. The Hive are not demons sent from hell. They are as far as we can tell inter dimensional beings who want to snuff out all light in the universe. The Vex are machines that predate humanity. There is nothing Christian about this game. You don't invoke the name of Christ or speak to the Holy Spirit to eliminate the enemy. You shoot them with bullets, bash the with fists or stab them with knives to win. The word of God is not inside the rockets being fired. It is explosive ordinances. This post is a joke. Great trolling/attention whoring. But as a Christian I see nothing wrong with playing a Warlock. They can't jump. But they can self-res faster than Lazarus.

7 RisposteI'm a Christian too. But it's a game.. It's fun. Killing people in cod isn't godly. But it's just a game, I played a ton of GTA5 too. I don't really bring my faith into playing games, everyone is entitled to their opinion and beliefs. I just play cuz I love the game! But I also hate it..... Dang RNG lol

2 RisposteI think you're reading a little too much into the name. In fact the warlock in this game doesn't really wield magic or do anything supernatural. Except rise from the grave, which I'm surprised you'd be more offended by the class name than the fact he comes back from the dead. Religious people are an interesting bunch.

As much as one's religious beliefs need to be respected, people tend to over think life in general. This is a fictional universe and needs to be treated as so. It is a video game that doesn't try to sway or force any sort of beliefs on anyone and to try to compare it to real-world religious beliefs is fairly pointless. What one conjures in their mind from simple labels a video game gives something is more of a reflection on that person. I would say more than anything, that that person needs to take a hard look at themselves and question whether they are taking a fictional world too seriously and missing the point on their own religion.

As a (sort of) Christian myself I understand where you're coming from, but warlock fits better with the connotations of the other two classes. In fact, 'Scholar' or 'Sage' would possibly link to enemy names a little better - you ever noticed that it's only the vex that have an inherently 'evil' naming system? You have random anomalies with the other three, like 'Dreg' and 'Vandal' and 'Ogre' but aside from that most enemies actually have 'good' names.

After some research I discovered that Pentecostalism sometimes practice speaking in tongue or what some would call the language of the Angels. Language of the Angels is dangerous as it lets Angels/fallen angels and demons mess with your head if your weak willed but let's you have some control over demons. (Exorcism) 2.dark magic is miss use of the language of the Angels that Angel or fallen angel taught humans (not to be confused with Wiccan as they are more in line with forces of nature and alchemy then cursed magic) 3. Satan/lucifer is in fact gods creation made in his image like us however he was once gods strongest arch angel who rebelled against God simply because he had pride in being the strongest angel and did not like the fact that while he and his brethren was created superior to humans they were subjected by God himself to be there lesser. 4.NEVER use the language of the Angels unprotected unless you've steeled your heart and mind and ready for the consequences. As it could be much more danger then using a ouija board.
