Can the name Warlock be changed? (For two reasons)
1. I am a Christian and the word Warlock brings up connotations of witchcraft, spells, and frankly dark and Satanic power. Obviously in the game, the Warlocks are warrior scholars of the light fighting against the darkness. And I love how their powers are very scientific and Traveler focused with the use of Void (universe) and actual sun-shaped grenades. It is definitely a unique class, but one that just does not link up with the name, Warlock.
2. Warlock seems to restrict the class to males, since Warlocks can be seen as male witches. None of the other classes only sound like they appeal to one gender. So for greater inclusion of both genders to choose this class, the name change could be made.
I can see this very cool and unique class being called something like a Sage or Scholar, so that it doesn't have any harmful and sinful connections to dark arts, which really should not be taken lightly. Once again, I am a Christian and I am saying that beause that is my worldview and where this post is coming from.

36 RisposteIm going to have to change my opinion, and lend my full support to this thread. I would like to see the warlocks name changed asap. I would also like to see all guns removed from the game. There are a lot of people who do not support ownership or use of guns, and this game could be very offensive to them if they play it. Any earth locations should be removed or renamed too. There could be people of Russian heritage who do not appreciate the run down depiction of their homeland in the future. The name Rasputin definitely needs to be removed. It refers to a Russian peasant famously know as a good friend to the tsar of Russia, and more notably a mystical faith healer, believed to have healed the tsarinas young son multiple times through prayer alone. I enjoy this game, and would like to see everyone have an equal opportunity to enjoy it, without fear of offense to anyone.

7 RisposteBuddy, I am a Christian as well. And I am fully aware of the word Warlock. But Christianity doesn't say you can't know anything related to magic, you being able to do those kind of things is your family's Convictions, there are 3 things a Person most think about. Is this a 1.Law (such as the 10 commandments) 2. Convictions (what do I believe is right and wrong) and 3. Preferences (such as what music do I listen to) honestly my conviction is there are limits to magic such as Harry Potter, but Warlocks and the whole rest of the idea, in my opinion is something that very well could be possible in the future. So you may convict that is something you don't want to mess with, but does that mean Christians can't play destiny, NO. Does that mean destiny should ruin the games of others, because of your convictions, I think not!

5 RisposteI'm pretty sure the word sage has connections to druids and paganism, so you may not want that word. Scholars often try and teach Evil-lution, so you probably don't want that word either. Given that all of the mythos in this game revolves around gods, why does the name warlock offend you, but the fact that you are going to fight a 'god' in every other strike/raid after being resurrected by a god not bother you?

5 RisposteUnfortunately, one single religious view cannot be the dictating reason to change the name of the class. Although Warlock may be considered a male witch, in many other tales these type of characters are both good and bad. Plus, religion cannot force it's beliefs on others and therefore you must choose to either accept the game as is or not play it because of your beliefs. I'm a Christian as well and I don't think this has any bearing on the fantasy world created here.
