Out of curiosity, how in the hell does anyone fill their vault space? I had 10 FRs sitting in it for months, waiting for the pocket infinity bounty, and I never ran out of space. And don't say exotics. You can't possibly have that many on all your characters.
The only possible explanation is that you are gun hoarders.
Edit: wow, never thought I'd get this many replies. For the record, I have all but a few exotics (I'm on XB1). Most of what I don't have are heavies, which I have plenty of room for. I keep them spread between my characters. I have 2 IBs, but with the new vault feature, I may delete my fresh one. I have numerous legendaries as back up, multiples of VoG weapons, and a couple epic rare guns for crucible. I still have tons of space.
I get that you want more, but I don't understand why it's such a huge issue. Unless you hoard.
Edit 2: a common thread is that vault space is used to swap items/ loadouts between characters. New question: will this mobile vault update change that for you? I.E., have a set you keep on each character, swapping out only when you need to.

Vault is filled with 20 exotic weapons. Need hard light to complete collection. Where am i gonna put it? Guess ill hide it up my butt

On your character.
-
Have every weapon for both raids and only missing 3 exotics, factions give you good weapons at times and others are just good.
-
VoG, CE, vangaurd, deadorbit, FWC, new monarchy, iron banner, crucible and exotics.. i have ever exotic the xbox has to offer and most weapons from each faction.. trust me.. you run short in space pretty rapid..
-
I collect the exotics, I have at least 1 of each and multiple of the important ones,

For all my ghorns and mythlocasts.
-
Well mines full of all my exotics plus legendaries I use daily
-
If you use them daily, why are they in your vault?
-
To transfer between characters

I agree. Legendary and exotic weapons are a must to keep, but who needs two of the same exotic? Who really needs 4 different legendary auto rifles? If you're switching weapon types so much, you must not be using weapon-complementing armors. If I have a warlock outfit that increases scout reload and scout ammo carrying, I'd better focus on scout rifles...
-
Weapon type armor isnt really important since it doesnt increase damage. Therefore most people use which ever weapon fits the situation which leads to having a ton of weapons.
-
Now that I think about it, I don't know how it didn't make sense before. Bungie really should get around to awarding for kill count based RNG. Then these reloads and ammo carry increases would be more versatile buffs

My vault is 3 spaces away from being full. I have all crota raid weapons except song of ir yut, and I am only missing a couple of exotics. I also keep my kvoshtov for unknown reasons, and a couple of crucible pulse rifles I'm going to start using now with the update. Probably going to make a 3rd character just for the storage.

Said the blind man.

when you factor in I have one of each exotic save read death (on ps4) plus the raid weapons and a few odd and end legendaries for night fall. it fills up a lot faster then you think.
-
And you keep all of these in your vault because...?

I like to have the skittles in rockets, machine gun, fusion rifle and sniper for each toon for the burns. Also, a decent scout and hand cannon. This way I don't have to spend time running back and forth to the tower to swap stuff. I also collect exotics and keep one of each. If duplicate exotics/raid weapon meet the above requirements then I will shard the normal legendary instead. I usually run out of space in the materials section but lately have had space issues in the weapons section. Never have issues in the armor section though.
-
I have all but two raid weapons and all but two exotics. I have primary duplicates for each damage type (arc, void and solar) and I keep at least one secondary of each damage type for each weapon type on my three guardians. I hated going to the vault for guns just to run nightfalls etc. that is how. I usually have three open primary and secondary slots on each guardian and about 15 guns in the vault for exotics I'm not currently leveling. Efficiency sir, that is how you max your vault.
-
I'm extremely efficient with my guns. I have a setup for each character. I use different gun types for each, and it works very well. And I have tons of space in my vault.

There literally isn't enough space to store every exotic weapon in the game. Now imagine the struggle having to swap raid guns and other legendaries too.
