After 30 crota raids completions and plenty of attempts i have found that there are a few universal truths to raid teams.
#1 warlocks are the class most likely to be killed in the final part of the raid. They may be good at cheesing other parts of the raid but serious raid teams should avoid bringing warlocks along.
#2 players below 32 are 82% more likely to be killed during the easiest parts of raid. Level 31s even with skill are also alot more of a liablity than inexperienced level 32s as the damage they recieve and lack of damage they dish out makes them a burden to the rest of the team
#3 level 31 or below warlocks should raise a red flag for serious teams. They are a cancer on the serious raid team and should be replaced.
#4 the more players on your team that have a gjallahorn the more likely you are to progress successfully through the raid. When creating a raid team players with the gjallahorn should always be prioritized to those without.
#5 although the above points may seem to be controversial they are the result of weeks and months of raiding with various lfg teams.
EDIT: #6 based on replies throughout this thread, most forum trolls are warlocks. I hope bungie gives warlock are more useful role in the upcoming raid so that they can spend less time trolling and more time gaming
NOTE: I have a 32 warlock and i like the class im not hating on warlocks im just stating that they dont bring anything noticable to a raid. Striker gunslinger and blade dancer can all make orbs just as well as any warlock. Hunters are useful for invisibility/sword running and titans ward or dawn is useful for defence. Self res isnt all that useful since you have just created oversoul and voidwalker cant exactly help by nova bombing crota

5 RisposteModificato da gregger34: 2/28/2015 9:26:36 PMI run sword on ALL 3 classes on a weekly basis. My Warlock is my most powerful character... and one more thing. The ONLY class that can SOLO HARD CROTA ARE WARLOCKS. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bo3PiYuGV2c I'll leave that link for you (that is me on my warlock, which I do first try every time on all 3 classes when I'm bored). Every class can rip through a 6 person raid EQUALLY without issues, and when it comes to soloing, Warlocks take the cake. Accept it
-
says a guy with 18 TOTAL VoG Completes and 32x CE........ Your an idiot and know nothing
-
1 RispondiRight. Voidwalkers with obsidian kind are such a burden to bring along... I hate how they are constantly clearing out mobs of enemies with all those nova bombs they get... Freaking useless. Don't even get me started on sunsingers. Being able to keep thralls away from their team with solar flares is useless. And if they die during crota you don't even have to continue a man down. Such useless abilities for the crota raid. We don't want you warlocks!
-
But a voidwalker with apotheosis veal never die idoit
-
6 RisposteThis entire post makes you sound like scrub. I took 4 31's only 2 had Gjallarhorn, through crota HM. Skill is more important than owning a Gjallarhorn or being 32. And no warlocks? I can solo the Lamps on my lock, run sword and are a massive asset in a hard raid for self res.
-
I did hard mode a few days ago with 3 level 30s, 2 level 31s and myself (a 32). We still managed to kill Crota on the second sword (2 swords is standard for me, but I was sure that we'd need 3 for a lower level team). The topic creator places WAY too much confidence in people's light level.
-
1 RispondiPretty much all is true. The only thing though for warlocks that I always want at least one it that they can make orbs the easiest. I did the raid on hard last night and we had 4 warlocks and two hunters and we beat it
-
So just because those warlocks in your 30 raids sucked you're going to call the rest of them cancers? My main character is a Titan btw. Not a warlock troll.
-
1 RispondiYou really had a bad warlock on your team lol I don't remember the last time I died as my warlock on Crota.
-
2 RisposteNot true. I can carry my weight through lamps and bridge as a 30 warlock. Crota I can watch boomers (easy job) but the only thing I can't help out with is deathsinger because I'm a 30
-
Given the shotgun update, what role could they have now?
-
5 RisposteGet a life you arsewipe
-
4 RisposteI gotta say warlocks do die a lot during crota as they are so used to their dumb self res. Every random group I've been on, (excluding the swordbearer) no one dies except warlocks.
-
4 RisposteNumber 1 and 4 are dead wrong. I'd rather take an experienced 31 rather than an inexperienced 32 any day. Also, gjallarhorn is mot a must have. You can kill crota with all primaries.
-
6 RisposteAgree with everything except the warlock bs. I have one of each, no special love for warlocks, but anyone who has been in even a high school statistics class knows that with only 30 raids worth of data, your results are utterly wortless...way too many factors to consider....
-
Beaten Crota hard with 3 31s, no gjallarhorns, and 4 of us were warlocks. Got it on our second try. :)
-
1 RispondiYou need to do a lot more than 30 raids to start posting stuff like this. You want to know what helps in a raid? A good player, it all comes down to how well you know the content and how you preform as a player. I would take a level 29 that knows how to stay alive before an arrogant 32
-
2 RisposteI have 1 character for each class. And I don't die with any of them on crota. In fact, I turn off self res when I'm on my warlock. Because I don't plan on dying at all.
-
7 Risposte*sigh* clicked on it and unsurprisingly it's about bitching. This is seriously a let down
-
Damn we had 3 32 and 3 30s and we had no problem
-
Hunters were useless in the last raid and warlocks were king especially when it was cheese able so bungie changed it up. Hunters are king for CE warlocks are ok and obviously needed when it was cheesed. Thankfully titans are useful for both raids.
-
lfg teams
Well there's your problem, OP.
-
8 RisposteBlade dancers are limited to 4 orbs and that's it no more unless wearing the exotic that creates more in that case it's 5 so not nearly as many as any other class other than defender.
-
My main character is a warlock and i completely disagree with most of this, just because you've played with some bad players, it doesn't make that class type bad. In regards to level 31 or below makes no sense, because that would mean you were magically 31 before you got your first ever Crota completion? If it's normal difficulty as long as the player is level 29 plus and has some sort of tracking rocket then there should be no problem and nobody should be dying with the right tactic. For sword running everyone always says hunters are so amazing, any class can run the sword efficiently as long as the player knows what they're doing and warlocks using voidwalker can help if you use the vortex ability, you can use it to take out the swordbearer, which also prevents any thralls running towards the sword carrier.
-
Should be called "universal truths for people who raid with lfg groups" That list is irrelevant for cohesive groups who know what they're doing
