So here's my take on the subject. To clear the light, Id consider myself pro-choice, to a degree. Before I elaborate on that, defining whether or not the removal of the fetus is murder or not solely depends on what a person defines as human. Human ethics is a tricky slope to climb and under no circumstance will you get everyone to agree on one decision. Personally, I don't see a proper definition of the fetus being human until actual mental or other defining human elements are made spare for the basic DNA structure within itself. Now, I saw an argument stating whether or not we would have wanted our mothers to get an abortion if it so inconvenienced her. To that I say of course not. No one would wish to not exist. BUT, the only reason we state that is because we [i]already[/i] exist. A consciousness that never existed in the first place does not have wishes or strives for survival, nor does it care for exactly that reason. It does not exist. I have had over 18 years to develop, create memories, ideals, wants, to experience; that's what I define as human, the conscious effort to want to exist. A fetus before the cut off date (and some time after) is little more than a non-thinking organism. Now to my original point however, I said to a degree. I think this kind of behavior is acceptable only in legitimate reason. Irresponsibility conceiving said fetus, with no coming harm (aside from social I suppose) to the parents and their financial situation does not condone an 'easy way out'. I want to say that lightly, as I haven't come up with a more effective term. Anyway, if you are fully capable of having that child, give it up for adoption. There are plenty of couples in the world who would be happy to raise and care for the child. We cannot write off abortion completely however, in many circumstances it is fully apparent [i]why[/i] a parent should need the procedure, be it medical or financial (as I recall, the medical bills to pay for my birth would have ranged about 20000 without insurance). Abortion should not be used as an easy one night mistake mixer, but nor should it be disallowed completely. Human ethics make the middle ground here, and unfortunately not everyone will always agree to every term. The best one can do is appeal to the masses, and on this topic those masses are pretty damn even.

In my opinion it is murder, but that is my opinion and I won't go shoving it down peoples throats but I will leave you with something. Any of us could not be here had our parents decided to abort us, but yet here we are. So I don't see how you could say it's not, one of my best friends parents said the doctors said she should abort him, but they didn't and he is a totally heathy 17 year old.

Idgaf what others do with their bodies. I just know I will never let my own child be aborted.

Abortion is wrong in my opinion but my opinion is my own and I never intend to shove it down people's throats.
