"The Kid" deserves NO SYMPATHY
An open letter to all the enablers who are defending the cheater who got what he deserved:
PRE EDIT: it appears some don't know what this is all about. Here's a quick synopsis:
An asshole told a kid he could help him cheat and gain levels without working for it. The kid (who was streaming on Twitch) was like "cool. Ok". Kid announced that he is going to be using a glitch and was proud to be showing a cheat to his viewers. Kid allows the asshole remote access to kids PS4, asshole deletes kid's characters. Kid learns valuable lesson about cheating. And about trusting assholes. Asshole gains notoriety as huge asshole.

Once upon a time I was talked into stealing a candy bar. I was 11. I didn't even get out the front door. I got caught trying to conceal it, so I technically never stole it. I knew it was wrong, and I had to pay it back. I also got grounded. I also had to do volunteer work for the store ( mom made me pick up trash in the parking lot) twice a week for the whole summer.

Dude, this kid doesn't deserve free handouts. Screw him. He deserves exactly what he got. Just as I did when I stole the candy bar. This community is so full of God damned soft, touchy-feely, emotionally driven, hippy bitches it makes me sick. The kid needs to sack up and move on. And so should all you fake humanitarians. Quit enabling and reinforcing his bad behavior.
ADDENDUM: I agree that the guy who facilitated the kid's attempt to cheat is a major dickworm.

The Internet is a shitty place these days. I remember when you could try to do something against the rules and when it backfired you had to face the -blam!-ing consequences. I didn't get to be lv 60 with +8 gear when my 2moons account was stolen by my own foolishness. I had to start over and didn't get shit for it.

Another thing that bothers me is that the kid have out the assholes personal information without the assholes consent. This may not seem that bad seeing how the asshole did trick him in the end, but think about before that and how the kid was streaming, pretty much advertising those guys's psn accounts, when they did nothing wrong (again, up until the last point)

Thank you OP for saying what needed to be said. Completely agree. To all the people claiming he's just a kid and doesn't know better....he's live streaming for fudge sake. He knows plenty. There are children starving in the world, dying from poverty and disease. You don't care about them. But an 11 year old who knowingly tried to cheat and who's too young to be playing this game and streaming in the first place is deserving of being rewarded for his actions. He lost 2 characters in a damn video game, and the community is in a complete uproar. Again, the kid knew exactly what he was doing. Don't make excuses for him. I also condemn what Kermit did, he gets no support from me.

1 RispondiI disagree with your title. The kid does deserve sympathy. He got screwed very hard for his efforts, and it wasn't right. This being said, he isn't banned for his efforts either, and is free to rebuild his account. This is better than he could've gotten, and I agree that he should NOT get any items etc from bungie. Lost/glitched items don't get replaced for other players, he's no better. If they give this kid so much as a house banner or emblem, that's a travesty.
