Quite simple actually. I am single because I have not a partner at this current point in time.

Haven't spoken to a girl in years. The social awkwardness has built up. I can't even think of anything to have a conversation about with a girl.

There are so many reasons I could state why. There are always reasons to oppose anything you do. In some cases, you could call it people finding excuses. Why am I single? Why am I on my own? 1. I live in a remote area. Low population. People spread around far. Less chances of finding somebody. 2. I look the part of the people here, but I don't think the part. Perhaps I'm eccentric. Or strange. But because of whatever degree I think to, this lowers my odds of finding somebody compatable even more. 3. I'm not social. I do my thing in peace and quiet and I'm always working on something. Introverted and busy. Finding another introvert is the hardest damn thing in the world because one introvert of the pair has to be more interactive than the other. And you wouldn't find people like me at social gatherings or parties, or anything. You'd find them at home, on their own, working or doing their thing in peace and quiet. It's a self defeating search unless I bash down every door to every house looking for one. In which case, I wouldn't be presenting proper manners now would I? 4. The true outstanding reason why I'm alone, one which has always been this way ever since I was a kid, was because I've chosen to. I've looked at people, and watched. And all I've ever done was turn my head away and retreat. I think I have a somewhat decent judge of character. It doesn't take long for me to pick out bits and pieces of somebody to realize that they wouldn't get along with me, or I wouldn't get along with them. Which, could be over analyzing it. Which could point to the very true reason why. 5. I don't believe I deserve to have that. Numbers 1 through 4 are walls. Reason and excuses. Number 5, is the only true valid reason. If I wanted somebody nice, I would go out and find them. But I haven't. And the people I encounter, who seem to have some semblance of a potential for connection I never go after, and vice versa. Our brains are active on a subconscious level, picking up cues all the time. It's ingrained into us and it's been there since the start on an instinctual level. Most women tend to go towards an outward kind of guy. Somebody who displays outward tendancies. It's how we survived as a species. Pick the strongest, or the smartest, the head honcho of the pack, and you have better kids who can carry on your line. As such, when others look at me, on a subconscious level, I appear as a flatline. Dead in the water. I show no outward interest towards people. My belief that I should be alone, shines out. And women in particular can pick that out. Not consciously of course. But they're all good at being unknowing judges of character and compatability. That's how we evolved. As such. I'm alone because I've designed it that way for myself. I created my discomfort, so to speak.
