I play for enjoyment
-
To deal with my dull life and stressful work
-
I like the thrills and adrenaline rushes of pvp. Nothing feels better than going on a huge streak, winning and ending up with some nice stats at the end
-
I like fcking random whores while fcking crota in his big phat glowing asshole :)
-
Been playing since I was 3, I'M NOT GOING TO GIVE UP DEDICATION LIKE THAT!!!
-
I'm a 15 year old with chronic stomach issues as well as suffering from depression and severe social anxiety. Games give me an escape and allow me to be social. That is all.
-
My hobby since young plus it is a great source of entertainment.

I lead a very boring life XD I live out in the countryside very far way from where my friends live. I have to travel twelve miles just to get to school! So in that regard, video games allow me to enjoy good times with my friends whenever we have time available. The only social life I have is video games and my bf, which is more than enough for me :)
-
To stop me from spanking the monkey too often.
-
Honestly it's an outlet I don't like going out because my wife would give me shit if i did.
-
Real life is boring as -blam!-, better play video games.
-
Stress relief as well as having fun online with friends
-
I get to do a ton of badass stuff
-
because APPARENTLY murdering people you don't like is "against the law" the cops be like "this is not how we intended real life to be played"
-
1 RispondiTo have fun. It's also... therapeutic. I can also release all my anger when I play video games (especially in GTA), so I don't have to resort to breaking plates and shit.
-
I play because it's fun, relaxing and video games has always been a family tradition since atari to present consoles. Everybody in my family plays something and enjoys it.

Good question

I didn't have the best childhood growing up, bouncing from place to place and school to school because my mother struggled to raise me by herself, so time to make friends was limited with so much moving. I also used to have nightmares as a small child and had a serious anger problem. However, games offered an escape of sorts for my young self, a place to go to find new and interesting things to talk about with new people I meet, a place of anger and stress relief and helped with my nightmares. It actually caught me by surprise when I learned lucid dreaming isn't the normal dreaming default when it's not nightmares. I thought the only two modes of dreams were ones you couldn't control and were horrifying, or ones you could and they were whatever you wanted. As for now, though, I play them because they are what I know, and because they are fun. There are so many different games out there that pose new challenges, tell new stories, introduce new characters and just expand upon and improve themselves so much that I can't not like them. I'm currently getting into Darkest Dungeon and Evolve while waiting for MH4U. I don't really play Destiny too much anymore though. I put a ton of time into it early on, but now it's like "Oh, Tuesday, do this, do that, do these, and see you next week."

I am going to say this in general. If you are not playing games for fun than you are playing for the wrong reasons. Videos games are meant to be fun. If you don't like the game that you are playing then switch to a game that is fun for you. I like racing, shooters, rpgs(occasionally)and sports games. Destiny, Fifa, GTA, Skyrim, UFC and CoD(the old ones). Those are my top favs.
-
Because they're fun, and when there's nothing else to do
-
1 Rispondiwell i dont hav a stressful job but i would say just a generally stressful life. i play for the same reason as u, to relax. unwind, calm down, time to myself. clear my head. even if the game is infuriating like dark souls, it still works.
