Why do you play video games?
I have a stressful job and I find playing games therapeutic... What about you?

Because I started back in '78 on my Atari 2600 and have been hooked since. Look at some of these bad boys us OG's (Original Gamers) used to play on http://www.epocalc.net/pages/mes_timeline/video_gaming_timeline_1970-80s_by_atariboy2600.jpg. Legit 8 bit. :P

I bought my brother a ps4 so we could play destiny together. It's a good way to hang out with people that you miss.

I play for fun. This is the first game forum I have ever visited and I feel like people lost sight of that with this game. I'm not saying it doesn't have its shortcomings, but why do people need everything right here, right now and they have to have all the best stuff right away? That's just my two cents though.

Been playing since i was little. Back when the playstation was the big new thing and xbox wasnt even out yet. Ive always been interested in video games from the story to how they work.

2 RisposteI have been playing video games since NES came out. As far back as I can remember. It is a passion and a hobby. I am a grown man with a full time job, a fiance' and 2 young children. It is now my stress relief and my escape from reality.

Entertainment and relaxation, but I also enjoy a challenge. The main reason I still run VoG is because it's a fun type of challenging. Well, the mechanics, not the glitches.

I play them because I love how many different experiences I can have. A game like Transistor can leave me so emotionally involved that when I beat the game it's hard not to jump right into new game plus. A game like Portal gives me a fun and quirky experience that also has me use my brain. A game like PlanetSide 2 gives me an honest feeling of being in a real battle. You get my point, video games are just amazing.

Quite simply, they're fun for me. I enjoy the puzzle solving aspect (and not in the literal "puzzle" games kinda way), I typically stick to games that use themes I enjoy such as horror and post-apocalyptic stuff. A lot of the time I enjoy a game the same way I enjoy a book or a movie. Games are just a little more interactive.

Because my roommates bought me a PS4 as a going away gift and I felt bad going 7 months without using it for anything other than Netflix. And, my brother (1200+ miles away) plays and we haven't hung out much over the past 8 years. Good way to keep in touch.
