I don't have facts, I have a gut feeling.
I will play d2 regardless.

I had this feeling as well because of several things: 1. the TWID 2. Sony whole state of play (looked bad to me) 3. Marathon looked so bad in the state of play...from the vid to the graphics... it was kind of shocking (I even read in the server slam * they wrote that its a preview but purchase is neccessary... I think its hilarious that they are calling it a server slam... preparing the users for how we KNOW we are certain they will go down.) 4. chain of events leading up to now with no philosophical change at the heart of how this studio operates > they are doomed ...and thus the game is doomed without another dev studio as they just seem comfortable with letting it fade for as long as they can... -
3 RisposteModificato da FROGGY: 2/13/2026 5:46:14 PMThe game won't go away they will just not do anything more with it and just dribble reskined stuff with little substantial updates and no new things, that's when you know it's over.... O wait. It's been over for long time.

I didn't get that feeling, however I think that the recent content that was put forward, coupled with the silence, and excessively low player count, is quite possibly an honest death sign The other new game, doesn't look like it's doing great either

5 RisposteModificato da Obelix: 2/13/2026 4:39:02 PMDidn’t they say in the last communication they were cooking something? Absolutely no point making that kind of statement if you plan on closing the game in a few months.

D2 didn't but High Guard probably did. Of course the statements coming from the front office say otherwise, but no one is going to invest in a game that died in 2 weeks. Marathon was smart to avoid giving the game away for free. High Guard was not smart.
