Do you even know what I had to go through to get mine?
I had to physically go through literal hell to get my damn gun, that now people can just buy. Can you imagine what I went through?
Nothing actually, I bought it from Xur the first time and I sincerely don't care how you got it nor do it think I'm superior for already having it. This post is purely to see how many people read past the first line. I've seen many a post where people rip the OP a new one without having read the post.
Drop dead you illiterate monkeys.
He turned me into a newt!~ I got better....
Icebreaker!
RANDOM CAPS LOCK SECTION!
I QUIT!!!!!
I'm sure someone will get a kick out of this, and if not, I will.
Enjoy!
Edit: This post is purely for my enjoyment at the idiocy and utter cluelessness of the general forum public
Edit 2: If you've replied to the post without reading it, you have indeed, gone full potato
Edit 3: I am having way too much fun with this. Keep it up, peons.
Edit 4: A cookie for those being good sports after being utterly embarrassed!
Edit 5: There are enough potatoes here to feed the rest of the illiterate monkeys out there. Bravo gents and ladies, bravo
Edit 6: Many people have asked me why I posted this; I've received legitimate hate mail over this. I am no longer simply trying to troll the general population, though it certainly is fun. My goal is to highlight an ongoing issue on these forums: Too often, people post things with honest, intelligent, well thought out arguments or opinions, and the community jumps to the post , reads the title, maybe a line or two, and destroys the poster. It wastes time and perfectly good points and posts. My point with this post was to demonstrate how truly foolish you can look if you don't fully read a post before firing away, while also hoping that if more people take the thirty seconds to read more posts, better dialogue and conversation will be born out of it. There you have it!
Cheers, you illiterate potato monkeys

9 RepliesEdited by adrian101893: 1/16/2015 7:47:41 PMDid you know that you could've bought it before? Did you know that no one cares about your bitching? Did you know that it was bound to happen at some point? Did you know that you had no part in making the game therefore you do not get to bitch that someone bought theirs. I have 2 I bought one and "earned" one. Get over yourself have fun with the icebreaker everyone who bought it! It's a great weapon I hope 90% of people have it now cause in the long run it will help with raids think for the big picture people not for your ego's Edit: this post is for everyone who is angry about someone buying it. Please just enjoy the game cause I literally hear no one complain in game just on the forums so shut up :)

Xur sold the IB today and it has opened my eyes to something very strange and more that a little terrifying. The forums blew up with people talking about "earning" theirs, or "working hard" for that gun. When did video games have anything to do with work? When did people start to correlate playing as work? I go to work everyday. In no world would I consider playing VoG work. Think about it. I bought the IB when I payed $60.00 for this game. So I truly worked for it as many of you did. This has just opened my eyes to how lazy our generation has become. If we truly had an appreciation for hard work we wouldn't be so quick to apply that term to a raid on a game. That's it. Had to rant. Edit 1: Thank you for those that agree with me. For you who don't I have a challenge. Go find the hardest working man in your area. Your mom will know who he is if you need to ask someone. Work along side him for 1 day. Come back and see if you still have the same opinion. Edit 2: I really cannot believe that this had so many replies. This community isn't as bad as it can look at times.
Q: When did videogames have anything to do with work? When did people start to correlate [sic] playing as work? A: When games started using reward systems in order to incentivize play they set up an environment which mirrors the effort in exchange for remuneration work paradigm. This isn't to say that the activity is onerous, just that effort is expended and people expect to be rewarded. The reason the forums blew up is because of the psychological construct of unequal pay. Given: one individual expends "x" amount of effort and is rewarded with "y". This individual will feel cheated if: another individual puts in less than "x" and still gets "y" or if the other puts in "x" and gets more than "y" or, most certainly, if the other puts in less than "x" and gets more than "y". People are mad because they perceive the effort that they put in for the ice breaker is more than what other people put in. This is true for both sides of the argument (whether Xur or RNG requires more effort I'll leave others to debate). This is a natural feeling. This type of feeling has been empirically demonstrated for other primates too. That said, I agree that it is rather silly to demand justice regarding unequal payment in a videogame. Better to use your cognitive capabilities as a human and reframe the issue: more people with icebreaker means better teammates in the raid. P.S. I am an older millennial studying Industrial/Organizational Psychology at the graduate level, just so you know where this information is coming from.
Edited by x iKiiLLMaTic: 1/17/2015 8:37:07 PMI must say I "earned" my icebreakers 3 times through RNG, one for each character, and I personally do not care in the slightest that xur sold it. Everyone needs to quit crying. Ghorn is a different story though...even though I have found about 6 or 7 now lol Edit: I will admit I didn't finish reading first, BUT this was not directed at you because I stopped reading when you said you bought it the first time, it did make me lol

I like your kind of enjoyment :) Idiocy is a nice touch to the human race on some occasions I went half potato I think, but the more important part is that YOU UNDERSTAND POTATO :D I like your use of the word "peons" and it did give me a tingly sensation in some places I'm not really embarrassed but can I still have a cookie? pweasssseeeee? ^_^
