Video games are a complete waste of time
Every hour you spend playing games is an hour wasted which could have been used to attend social events or work on academic projects. People who play video games are complete losers who cannot manage their time or prioritize.

i go to bars and clubs with friends every couple weeks or so and get wasted. this is fun, but strangely enough i have more fun playing video games with friends than i do drinking with them. not that this matters in any way since this was an obvious flame bait and you really aren't looking for a good discussion here, are you.

They're fine when you have some down time and want to relax. It should be used as a recreational activity, not a habitual issue.

I took Math 30-1 this summer (last level of math in alberta before calculus) and got 98%. I also play a fair amount of video games.

Honestly, the only reason i'm playing video games right now is to burn some time until January when i go to basic and start my life. If i had to play video games for the rest of my life i would probably shoot my self.

There is no shame in taking time to one's self to enjoy some entertainment. One can work at a great job and make all the money in the world, but what would be the point of it if they did nothing they enjoyed? Games provide that for some (like me), whereas movies/books provide that for others, and drinking provide that for others. Not every moment of life needs to be spent working to improve the world.
