Just curious as to what everyone here is thinking. Exactly what would be your realistic ideal price for the PS4 or Xbox 129600?
As for me, I think around the $400 to $450 range is what I'm willing to spend if the software is good and it won't die on me in 6 months.

I probably will not get the next Xbox until Halo 5 comes out, and hopefully the price drops by then. Honestly, Halo 5 is probably the only reason I might get the new Xbox, and even then Im not sure. I've grown vastly more interested in PC MMO's lately than consoles, such as SWTOR.

Edited by Xmark120: 2/24/2013 6:02:44 PMThe only reason, that I'm considering buying the next Xbox, around launch. is because me and my friend own different consoles in this generation, so we have agreed to buy the same next-gen console. I doubt that I'd even consider buying the next Xbox before the next Gears of war, or Halo came out, though, If it wasn't for the mentioned situation. As for the price, I have a good income, so I could get the 400$ relatively fast, but my friend wouldn't be able to afford it anytime soon, if it's going to cost more than 300$.

Usually my brother and I split the money for a console but since we're both in college I would have to get it myself. It would be beneficial for me since I'm a Game Design major, so I would be willing to spend around $400, since I will probably have a job next semester.

If the next xbox really evolves into the all-in-one entertainment hub that Microsoft is trying to paint it as, than a price range around $400-500 wouldn't be terribly unreasonable.
-
Edited by EZ: 2/24/2013 1:17:47 PMProbably the same I hope it will be less, but if next-box is worth getting, I may sell my current system. But that depends on what the new one can do. I may just wait for a year or two after the first Destiny to upgrade. But we shall see.

Nothing. I'm sticking to PC, developers are really pushing out some great stuff now for it.
-
Probably $400 max. If it was as high as $400, I would set aside some money in advance to buy it. Any higher than $400, and I am going to wait for a price drop, most likely. No matter what the price is, it's going to be difficult to see all the people playing with the new hawtness if I don't have it.

400$-450$ If it costs anymore then that then I'm gonna continue to play the Xbox 360 until the price lowers.

1 ReplyI'll just buy a new GPU for £300 and that should last me ~7 years
-
There is no reason that Sony cannot price the PS4 for less than $400 and still make good money. Since Xbox will skimp as usual, it should be $100 cheaper.

1 Reply£0. Can't really justify spending the money to play a few exclusives I don't really care about. I'll miss Destiny if a PC version doesn't materialize, that's it.
-
3 RepliesNot the nine or eight hundred dollars they'll cost, that's for damn sure.
-
my absolute max is 500 dollars, but I would feel uncomfortable if it was higher than 400.
-
1 ReplyMy max is $400. Even then that's a lot, I would be comfortable spending $300-350 on a next gen console.
-
I heard a rumour that it would cost £300 (about $450). I'd be fine with that pricetag at launch, but not if they went any higher.
-
At the most $450.
-
Over 9,000!!!!
-
About $400 is the sweet spot, I'd rather not go any more than that considering the monthly cost of just playing online as well. Although, I'll be waiting a few months after release to get some of the software updates worked out. Won't be getting a new console day 1 this time around.

With all the latest rumors, leaked documents, and patents going on, I would probably spend up to maybe the mid $500s area. That is, if Microsoft really follows through on some of their patents and documents. Like this stuff: -Xbox TV (Live TV) -DVR (The Xbox would be able to be "always on" to record shows while not being used) -Record while playing -Open guides and other "Apps" while playing games -and the Kinect projector idea looks interesting -then there are a lot of other things that look great, but without the new Xbox being official, everything can change before it's out These are just from some of the patents by Microsoft, as well as a few things that were mentioned be employees.
-
300-400$ it really depends on what it has.
-
600 sounds ok, hopefully I can get a game for that much as well though. Going to be working a few Saturdays one way or the other.
-
Five hundred ninety-nine U.S. dollars. Just kidding. I'm 95% sure I wouldn't go over $450. A console and one game would run you about $545 dollars, depending on sales tax (7% here in Iowa). I might go to $500 if one of the consoles brings something very big to the table or the other one has a serious disadvantage. For example, if the next Xbox is significantly more powerful, but more expensive, I'd be willing to go for it, especially since Xbox is my default already. But if Microsoft still charges for XBL, that could push me towards the PS4.

Edited by xJINCHOx: 2/23/2013 4:17:16 AMI wouldn't pay more than $450! Be best if their was a game with the console! And by the way, the games should stay at the price their on! Just thinking about a $80 game is just nerve busting ridiculous!!

Enjoy your basic Wii U models, $300 crowd.
