As good as it has been for me, (been facing mostly players of my skill level), NO-ONE should be squaring up to a Flawless without being one themselves.
People should not just have gotten their card, and loaded in to see a flawless glow on the opposition on the first match.

That's the purpose of the flawless pool. Before then, I don't see an issue

On wins above 3, I can get behind that. But if youve just got your card and see a Flawless on either side...? Nah dawg, that aint right
-
Just wait to play past Sunday reset, then. You won't match people who've gone flawless

Your issue stemmed from playing against individuals who have been flawless while you are on your first game. The flawless pool is quite literally your answer Fireteam matchmaking is favored over win based/card based matchmaking in trials. I remembered a weekend when bungie switched it to win based matchmaking, and it was a horrible weekend of trials. Everyone was complaining about the difficulty of going flawless, from sweats to noobs. The matchmaking is pretty good right now.

Whilst I agree with you that Flawless pool is indeed the answer to my main point, (my last comment is indeed incorrect, so I apologise for that), 'subsection to point A' is that Bungo wants Flawless pool to no-longer exist, hence my perhaps exaggerated concern. As for matchmaking, it is indeed in a good place.

If you read the crucible blog, it talked about changes to trials to help players who are more unfamiliar with the experience, in addition to protecting those who are newer. I think some of the ideas mentioned in the blog will help with what you don't like about trials right now

Lets hope it works, eh?
